  1. This??? http://www.thorequities.com/portfolio/the-kirby-collection/ Latest renderings and info as of 9/2015: http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/morning_call/2015/09/massive-kirby-mixed-use-project-to-break-ground.html
  2. I alluded to this in the 2929 Wesleyan thread but now that bisnow referenced it this morning I figured it was ok to talk about. PM is redeveloping the solvay site by tearing down the existing bldg and replacing it w a hotel/condo and building a 20 story office next door. I can't confirm much re the hotel but it sounds like the office is moving forward and would assume the hotel is as well. Don't expect anything earth shattering architecturally speaking. Should be a nice addition regardless. There are a few more projects proposed in the immediate area as well, some further along than others, but 3333 sounds like the closest thing to a guarantee.
  3. Presume you are referring to 5 Post Oak Park at 4400 Post Oak Parkway? That building is 28 stories... 389 feet tall. So, probably a little taller than Sky House will be.
  4. Just a passing observation about the property across the street. 3535 Sage Road has a big for sale sign advertising 8.2 acre tract of land for sale. That’s pretty big chunk of land for this area. Also just south of 3525 Sage condos. Right now there is an abandoned two story commercial bldg along with a really big ugly parking lot. Looks like plenty of development opportunities around here… keeping my fingers crossed. Need lots more lovin in this part of town!
  5. While driving down South Wynden Drive I came across this fancy brick office building. Here's some photos I took of the building.
  6. The law offices of Hudson Partnership located at 35 North Wynden Drive is connected to the Blaffer family. Hudson Bros. Real Estate owns some high-value land down the street a long South Post Oak Lane. I stopped by the other month to take a photo of the street signage and building.
  7. Alliantgroup (Alliant Group) Cooperate Headquarters At 3009 Post Oak Blvd. Late 2010 groundbreaking, delivering in 2012 14 stories 300,000 SF LEED Gold Directly across from Waterwall On proposed METRO Uptown line Developed, built, and self-financed by Skanska i dont know how to post the pic so here's a PDF picture, i'm sure someone much smarter than i can post it. 3009 post oak.pdf
  8. I know there's been some discussion in the past of the site that the Scamrock was planned for, and that Hines had been involved with the site as of late. After stumbling across this page & the rendering included, I was wondering if anyone had additional info on it. http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w208/houtosme/HinesNorthTower.jpg Webcam: http://oxblue.com/open/hines/609main Latest Renderings and Info as of 10/2013 : http://hines.com/press/releases/10-24-13.aspx http://cdn.archinect.net/images/1200x/w9/w960vwofy7my72oy.jpg http://cdn.archinect.net/images/1200x/at/att9aiqc5uz5sf5o.jpg http://cdn.archinect.net/images/1200x/lt/ltivpvzn6h9rnbwy.jpg http://cdn.archinect.net/images/1200x/cv/cvwqzwxm50bfvh4s.jpg http://cdn.archinect.net/images/1200x/n6/n6xuq3hkree2obz6.jpg http://cdn.archinect.net/images/1200x/b8/b8p8laaumu4b9awg.jpg http://cdn.archinect.net/images/1200x/v9/v91wethv1vtxoh48.jpg http://cdn.archinect.net/images/1200x/qy/qy68m8vbgxgcfcqe.jpg

  11. Newsflash Not much info here; anyone have the scoop?
  12. I was wondering if it is possible to go to the observation deck at the chase tower? Do they let people in there?
  13. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/nb/hei...ws/6209171.html Back before the Christmas HAIFfy hour, an elevator at 717 Texas 'stopped abruptly' breaking both legs and injuring the back of the passenger. The official statement was that the safety brakes engaged unexpectedly. Yesterday, the elevator right next to the other one (which is still out of service) did the same thing. Only, the passengers are not hospitalized and were able to give a true account. The elevator fell several floors, at which point the brakes kicked in. This building is the newest skyscraper downtown, at 30+ floors and about 5 years old. The elevators are by Fujitec. Did the developer go on-the-cheap with this elevator company or are they reputable?
  14. I figured I would create a new topic. Does anybody know the history of the Wedge Tower? Clearly there was a garage attached at one time. When did it come down? For what reason? Also, I've been told that the owner (builder) of the Wedge filed bankruptcy in the 80s with the real estate collapse, and made an apartment on the top floor where the restaurant now is. He tried to keep the building by claiming it as his homestead. He eventually lost that battle.
  15. 1000 Main becomes second downtown skyscraper to change hands this summer By Jennifer Dawson Houston Business Journal Updated: 8:00 p.m. ET Sept. 18, 2005 One of the city's newest skyscrapers was acquired last week for what is believed to have been the highest price per square foot ever paid for a building in downtown Houston. Reliant Energy Plaza, located at 1000 Main, was bought by KanAm grundinvest Fonds, an institutional investor out of Germany. The seller was a partnership led by HAUS-INVEST Global of Germany, which had held an ownership stake in the building since August 2004. The other former owners are from Houston: Pinto Realty and Century Development, which developed the building in March 2003 and will continue to manage and lease the property. 16. "When completed in 1961, the First City National Bank complex in Houston connected a 36-story office tower to a low-rise banking pavilion. The contrast between the two buildings is emphasized not only by their scale, but also by their careful detailing and materiality: the tower, with its recessed windows and white marble cladding, stands in deliberate opposition to the banking pavilion’s glass and steel structure. In keeping with the city’s car culture, the pavilion was designed to allow customers to complete transactions through six drive-in windows. While this portion of the complex was later demolished, the tower, now known as One City Centre, still stands as an early example of modernism in downtown Houston." http://skidmoreowingsmerrill.tumblr.com/post/142803990147/throwback-thursday-first-city-national-bank-when Some images have been posted before but searching for "One City Centre" yields hundreds of posts about Midway's CityCentre. Imagine that pavilion still fronting main... Sigh.
  17. Didn't know where to post this but since it's on Main, the former ATT store at McKinney Place is becoming a VZW store. https://twitter.com/thachadwick/status/699387721274363905 Also, new sidewalks are partially opened on the 900 block
  18. The thought crossed my mind when I read the chron.com article this morning about Chevron buying the second former Enron building and the YMCA land... Have there been any rumors that Chevron is moving more people here or consolidating somehow? Any chance they would move their HQ from California here?
  19. Does anyone on HAIF work in, or regularly visit 1001 McKinney? I'm trying to find out how many floors it has. I've seen both 22 and 24. It would be nice to hear from someone who can actually go into an elevator and look at the buttons (and note if there's a 13 or not).
  20. Speaking of the Greensheet building: Read more at: https://www.bisnow.com/houston/news/office/greensheet-building-in-midtown-across-from-superblock-sold-61730?rt=20122?utm_source=CopyShare&utm_medium=Browser
  21. I searched around a bit and found out that the deep hole in the ground on Fannin & Capitol used to be a parking garage, (I think) but why was it demolished, and are there any plans to build anything on the site? Based on the weathered plywood on the barriers, it has been in it's present state for a while. I tried to search around for it, but couldn't find anything more specific.
  22. The old Chappell Jordan Clock Galleries at 2222 Westheimer Rd will be demolished to make way for a furniture showroom and office. AB Modern will build here. https://abmodern.com/ https://www.tdlr.texas.gov/TABS/Search/Project/TABS2021001032
  23. I was just wondering, how far apart are these two developments and do you all thing these two sites could change the perception of Houston as a urban walkable city? Which development do you think has the greatest potential for development? Some say that the KBR site should become a park, but I believe that there could be a much better use for the site. KBR Site Regent Square
  24. This house/building was recently demolished. https://rsgcompanies.com
