I recently discovered these old 1960 apartments in the Greenway Plaza neighborhood. wow!! I would post a picture but unfortunately it's watermarked. Does anyone have an image they can share? Who was the architect on this very strange, bizarre multifamily complex?

Proposed plat for MOTUs Spot. By the end of runway 22 which they don't seem to use all that much.

One of my HAIF buddy's gave me the idea of this thread. Thought I would create the thread as the TMC is considered a Central Business District. Does anyone know the multifamily occupancy/demand for the Texas Medical Center area? I know there are a lot of old, 1960s/1980s apartments situated near the TMC. Only a matter of time until a developer buys the garden-style complex and builds a 5 to 8 story apartment wrap. The TMC multifamily market is probably, mostly, based on a few key streets. Westridge, El Paseo, Brompton, Cambridge, El Mundo, Fannin, Holly Hall, etc. I'm surprised the TMC area does not share the same market-hype that The Heights/Montrose does with all these new medical districts popping up. The area to watch is Southern Fannin. Pierce Junction is practically vacant.

I was reading the newspaper The Jewish Herald-Voice dated February 6, 1964 and came across an apartment listing for Greenwillow Apartments located at 10825 Greenwillow Street. Crazy to see a 1 bedroom apartment going for $112.50. In present day, I'm sure it's 7 times as much! For the same apartment, just upgrading plumbing pipes, etc. Greenwillow Apartments 10825 Greenwillow / Apply Apt. 11 New . . . 1 and 2 bedroom apartments 2 full Baths - Spacious Walk-in Closets - All Electric Kitchens - Centrally Air-Conditioned - Individually Controlled Apts. - Drapes - All Utilities Paid $112.50 up / For information phone PA 9-1971

I was browsing the Harris County Tax Office and discovered a Gables plat called "O.S.T. Apartments" that has since been sold and converted into condominiums called City Plaza Condominiums located at 1330 Old Spanish Trail. Pretty cool find. Looking on HAIF, I do not see Gables has a (current) multifamily property in the Texas Medical Center. Maybe they should build a new one! No date given. I'm assuming the 1980s or 1990s.

I just learned about this massive apartment complex at Hillcroft Street at South Main Street. Across from Meyer's Speedway! The apartment complex has since changed hands, multiple times, and is now called Heights at Post Oak. Hillcroft Square was originally developed by Wallace E. Johnson Enterprises, Inc. and was built in between 1969 to 1973. Here's an advertisement from the 1970s for Hillcroft Square.

Earlier this week I noticed a plan review permit was pulled for an awning replacement. This is for Pine Terrace Apartments located at 3901 Omeara Drive. I wonder who was the original developer and in what decade was this complex built? Has to be somewhere between 1960s and 1980s. Maybe a decade left before the complex is demolished and replaced for something taller, to hold more people? If the 500-acre TMC BioPort gets built, there is a high chance of redevelopment here.

Does anyone have personal experience with the apartments called Portico Kirby? The complex is located near the Texas Medical Center at 7550 Kirby Drive. I wonder who the developer was? What about the architect? Website: https://portico-kirby.com/

wow! I never knew about this apartment complex that's in between South Main and Buffalo Speedway. I see it's a garden-style complex, which means it's probably 40 to 60 years old. I wonder if it will be demolished soon to make way for a mid-rise multifamily? Does anyone have any reviews of this place? Any memories to share? I wonder who the developer and architect was? I'd hope one of the mainstream Houston developers such as Finger, Farb, or Fein. Looks like the complex was recently sold? I see two names for the apartments: 3000 @ Med Center and Mainstream Apartments.

Anyone familiar with the apartment complex called Weston Medical Center located at 7510 Brompton Road? I wonder who was the developer of the complex? Does anyone know the architect? Weston Medical Center should be cheaper housing considering it's garden-style apartments. Renters probably get a good deal since it's not 5 stories and flooded with amenities.
