  4. "On a statewide level, the TDHCA awarded $81.6 million in tax credits to a total of 71 affordable housing developments, including 10 in Houston. Another proposed project in the area that submitted an application to the TDHCA – a 180-unit complex called The Ella planned for 1718 W. 26th St. – was not awarded a tax credit." https://theleadernews.com/topfeature/dian-street-villas-project-awarded-housing-tax-credit/
  5. Researching old school Houston multifamily developers and I came across this garden style apartment complex located at 7901 Cambridge Street. Does anyone know who developed the property? Possibly built by Marvy Finger, Harold Farb, Martin Fein, or Ted Dinerstein? Looks like Park on Cambridge was built in the 1980s? Assuming the complex was sold and bought a few times. Now probably owned by a national company specializing in garden-style acquisitions. I wonder how long until this complex gets demolished and rebuilt into 4 to 6-story apartments? Looks like the place is just a few blocks away from Old Spanish Trail and Cambridge. That intersection, with the McNair campus expansion, TMC Helix Park, and the UT Research Park developments. CenterPoint Energy also just announced a $200 million TMC substation on the corner of Cambridge and OST. I give it 5 years before luxury apartments go in!
  6. Urban Genesis continues to push out new multifamily. These two may be a part of the Arts District
  7. I was browsing the newspaper The Bellaire Texan dated December 22, 1959 and noticed an article that contained the listing for Pickwick Apartments located at 6622 Ardmore Street. This is across the street from the present-day Levit Green development. Does anyone know more information about this multifamily apartment complex? When was it built? Who was the architect? Who was the developer? Any pictures of this building?

  12. Looks like HEB is really pushing hard for their new urban concept... this could be a large development (just my speculation). no mention of mixed use but it looks like their urban concepts are shooting for that where feasible and this would certainly be a feasible location. http://www.chron.com/business/real-estate/article/H-E-B-planning-Upper-Kirby-land-buy-11743119.php?ipid=ntk
  13. Sorry if this is a dupe. Lasco Ventures has bought some land for a new office tower.
  14. I live across the bayou from these apartments located at 3200 N. MacGregor and Sampson and noticed a few nights ago that it was completely dark at night. No lights whatsoever. I thought it was a power outage until I drove by and saw the parking lot was empty except for 2 cars. I guess they've been abandoned. Did they get bought out or are they undergoing renovations or what?
  15. Houston Housing Authority pays Trammel Crow for the development of the apartments.

  17. Does anyone have any experience with the apartment complex called The Terraces on Brompton located at 7315 Brompton Street? The apartments are located just 3 blocks west of the Texas Medical Center. I wonder who was the original developer? The Finger Companies, The Farb Companies, Martin Fein Interests, or The Dinerstein Companies? So many of the original Houston multifamily developers built those old school garden complexes scattered around. I would assume this is a cheaper alternative to living closer to the TMC. In due time, 10 to 15 years, this will be demolished for a luxury 7 story building. Website: https://theterracesonbrompton.com/
  18. New plat that was approved. Looks like it could be a small apartment project. Edit: Apparently it wasn't approved because it's still up for the next Planning Commission meeting.

  20. I was browsing the newspaper The Rice Thresher dated November 14, 1986 and came across an advertisement for Bissonnet Plaza Apartments located at 5104 Buffalo Speedway. There were two different apartment complexes on each side of the street. Looks to be have built in the 1950s and demolished in the late 1980s or 1990s. The two shopping centers were built in replace of these apartments? Plaza In The Park Shopping Center and Terrace Shops Shopping Center. Any pictures of the apartment complex?
