I previously posted a query about this on the Kaplan's Ben Hur thread when I saw that the old building was being demo'd. A representative of Allied Realty Services has reported the following to the Houston Heights Association Land Use Chair: 195 apartments. (on two acres) 4 stories of apartments, 1-1/2 stories of parking underneath No renderings available at this time. They may make a presentation to the Land Use Committee in October. Allied is working with the association of homeowners who are on the north side of W 22nd

The only 15-story hotel I'm aware of that was in the Med Center was the Anderson Mayfair on Holcombe, but I haven't seen a good picture of it. This is the Tidelands. Is this what you were thinking about? http://www.lileks.com/postcards/motels/TX/tidelands.jpg

Spec's is coming to Montrose!! Montrose and Westheimer next to Half Price Books in the shopping center on the corner to be exact. The space has stood empty for a while. Recently I walked past the unoccupied location and noticed a wall of coolers had been installed, my first thought was grocery store, but today on my way home, a sign company had plastered a paper layout on the wall so that they could install the electrical part of a new sign, I drove by slowly and barely made out the name of the infamous Rabbit's home!! Spec's Liquor Warehouse. Let's get our drinks on Montrose!

So recently I've picked up an interest in the late Shamrock Hotel, but this especially caught my eye: Glenn McCarthy. I'm curious as to whether there are any renderings of this--an indoor shopping complex seems very forward thinking and probably would be the first true indoor regional mall if built. Anyone have more details on this? Wyatt C. Hedrick (often misspelled as Wyatt C. Hendrick)

I recently discovered these old 1960 apartments in the Greenway Plaza neighborhood. wow!! I would post a picture but unfortunately it's watermarked. Does anyone have an image they can share? Who was the architect on this very strange, bizarre multifamily complex?
