  1. Development south of Lady Bird Lake on the old Austin American Statesman site. Looks like millions of square feet of space to be developed over time with several high rise structures and mixed use. This might take a while with the tech developments over the last month. I'm glad to see downtown jump the lake. I'm surprised it took them this long.
  2. The property at 212 Milam St., presently occupied by the more-or-less abandoned Chase Motor Bank across the street to the north from Market Square Tower, has recently been listed for sale: https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/212-Milam-St-Houston-TX/15558588/ Here's hoping for some nice redevelopment to extend the skyline further north.

The plan is to build up to 5 6-story buildings with retail on the lower levels. 600-650 Units total with between 60-70KSF for retail between all of the structures. They still need to get permits but want to begin building next year. Identity Architects is the designer, Rockville Construction is the GC.
  4. From the shops thread. Appears to be a large mixed-use track of land. Two plots... one to the north and one to the east of the picture.
  5. http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/stories...ry3.html?page=1 Sounds good to me. I went to NW Mall for the first time a couple weeks ago and while it is nearly full, it could use some new juice.

  9. This closed gas & service station is at the corner of OST & Kirby. A bad look for neighborhood. Wonder when this will be sold and redeveloped?
  10. Midway has partnered with GrayStreet Partners, the San Antonio-based investment group specializing in urban commercial real estate, to transform the former Lone Star Brewery site into San Antonio’s newest up-and-coming lifestyle destination—Lone Star District. Complementing its unique setting in the heart of the local arts scene, amidst historic neighborhoods, unique landmarks and walkable public spaces, the project’s 32acres of carefully designed, multi-phase, mixed-use development will revitalize the site into an authentic community gathering space, welcoming a wide variety of tenants, local residents, workers and visitors of all ages and diverse cultures. Just 1.5 miles south of downtown, Lone Star District is located within San Antonio’s Southtown Arts District. Known for its vibrant art and restaurant scene including Blue Star, the area is also one of the most desirable residential areas in the city, with five neighborhoods including King William, Lavaca, Lone Star, Collins Garden and Roosevelt. The site borders the San Antonio River, boasting over a quarter mile of river frontage on the Mission Reach, and is adjacent to Roosevelt Park. ‍‍ https://www.midway.team/places/lone-star

  12. Apparently Houston Methodist purchased 1.5 acres at Main and Holcombe. While researching this I found the old concept plan by Norvin. The Norvin land turned into TAMU's Innovation Plaza, but still featured a future tower where Bank of America sits. You can see the tower on the lower left.
  13. Noticed this on instagram this week. Do we have a thread on this?
  14. 100-acre development By Warehouse Associates. Believe it's old and ongoing. http://www.wadtexas.com/
  15. Has anyone heard about this? Their website is pretty generic, but someone on the Nextdoor app mentioned it’s going to be at the southwest corner of Montrose & West Alabama at 3900 Montrose Blvd. Their list of “partners” (see image below) appears to be quite wide ranging...including both Bludorn restaurant and giant Japanese tech investor SoftBank Group. https://bridgecityhouston.com/theorigin/

  17. Is this for Houston, TX or Houston Street in NYC? It's copyrighted 2008...which could spell out d-e-a-d. http://epicentrehouston.com/ Vantage Plus, the development company has offices in the heart of Miami: map Also, I found the company who came up with their logo: link Lastly, this google search shows that it looks like they might be trying to get funding for this. See the second link and the preview description. The second to last link is a project in North Carolina that looks nothing like EpiCenre Houston. I don't think they're related at all.
  18. From the Bisnow article: http://www.bisnow.com/commercial-real-estate/houston/2260-why-you-should-get-into-seniors-housing/
  19. I found this in the Houston Compilation thread at SSP and I was trying to find out of anyone may have any knowledge on the project. Looks like it is located at Texas and Main. Found under Multi Family residential http://www.kobikarp.com/site/
  20. Partners form mixed-use real estate triangle Houston Business Journal - June 23, 2006 by Jennifer Dawson Houston Business Journal With developable land in the Galleria area becoming increasing scarce, an enterprising partnership has acquired an aging office building in the Uptown District with plans to cluster new developments around the 11-story structure. An affiliate of Houston-based AmREIT purchased the Prosperity Bank building at 5433 Westheimer with the intention of eventually surrounding it with a mixed-use development possibly including retail, residential and hotel elements. Parts of the office building itself -- which sits on a three-acre, triangular tract -- could also be redeveloped. http://houston.bizjournals.com/houston/sto.../26/story4.html
  21. Nice article on a new development in the Up-Town area. http://www.bizjournals.com/bizspace/housto...tory_id=1176985 The property is located at: here I thought the comment on Houston's good ol' laissez faire property development in lieu of legislative land use restrictions was interesting. It was just one of those things you knew, but hadn't really thought of it that way.
