  1. Apparently Houston Methodist purchased 1.5 acres at Main and Holcombe. While researching this I found the old concept plan by Norvin. The Norvin land turned into TAMU's Innovation Plaza, but still featured a future tower where Bank of America sits. You can see the tower on the lower left.
  2. This is the shopping center with the Randall’s at Bellaire & Bissonnet. https://s25.q4cdn.com/658894972/files/doc_presentations/2020/11/3Q20-Roadshow-(Nareit).pdf A planned multi-story mixed-use redevelopment is in the works. Wonder if they’re signaling that the Randall’s will be closing, making the shopping center obsolete.
  3. 7-Acre site in on West Fuqua is about to change. Formerly the shopping center with the Kroger as the anchor tenant. https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/19273515/7100-7213-West-Fuqua-Missouri-City-TX/ Project includes a 126-unit affordable workforce housing community, 400-seat Larry V. Green Main Stage Theatre, 33,000 Sq. Ft. of retail development space, and a pre-kindergarten program. More information about Edison Lofts can be found on this agenda packet https://www.houstontx.gov/council/committees/housing/20190917/agendapacket.pdf HCDD recommends Council approval of an Ordinance authorizing an $8,000,000.00 CDBG DR-17 forgivable loan to Edison Arts Foundation, a non-profit partner of DWR Development Group, for the new construction of a mixeduse development that includes Edison Lofts, a 126-unit mixed income rental housing community. (District K) Renderings and more info forthcoming.
  4. Always used to see this Loopnet listing. Looks like the listing has been removed. Did somebody buy it? https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/0-WOODWAY-Houston-TX/11384575/ +/-1.0409 acres fronting the south side of Woodway Drive in the Riverway Reserve development on the banks of Buffalo Bayou. High profile unique development opportunity with engineering challenges due to floodway, but price is discounted accordingly. Highest and best use calls for mid-to-high-rise vertical development.

  6. Name of Development: The Mill Developer: Triten Real Estate Partners Location: 2219 Canal Street General Info: This includes a multi-family building, two freestanding restaurants, and approximately 13,000 SF office building (4 story with restaurant, coffee shop, retail on the ground floor). The multi-family is a 7-Story with 323 Units, equaling approximately 262,000 SF. It includes a restaurant, retail space, fitness area, club, event space, exterior amenity pool deck, fitness lawn, co-working space and parking garage. EDIT: Renderings are of the multi-family portion only. Site plan added for reference. Architects: EDI International Michael Hsu Still in design phase. This is all of the information I have at the moment.
  7. I can't find the thread that had renderings and site plan, but the developers are seeking setback and visibility triangle variances. It will go before the Planning Commission on Thursday, 5/28. The location is the Southwest corner of Austin/Webster intersection where Midtown Bail Bonds used to operate.
  8. Any updates regarding this shopping center? It's located at Stella Link & South Braeswood. The shopping center has been doing very poorly over the years. Lots of vacancies and no remodels. Looked around on DMRE's website today. Looks like the property was sold. 9.70 acres. Future housing or a major retail redevelopment? https://dmre.com/property/stella-link-and-braeswood-9-70-acres/ Old site plan.
  9. https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/2520-Houston-Ave-Houston-TX/18515967/ 30 condo units with ~17,000 sq feet of retail/office space
  10. 100-acre development By Warehouse Associates. Believe it's old and ongoing. http://www.wadtexas.com/
  11. Does anyone have anything on this apparently they bought a block of land in Downtown for 55 million Nevermind* found little more information Skanska has purchased four land parcels, including one full city block, totaling about 14,200 square meters in downtown Houston, USA. The seller is a private citizen. The total investment amounts to USD 55 M, about SEK 520 M.Located adjacent to Discovery Green, these four sites are in Houston’s Central Business District and Skanska plans to develop a mix of office, multi-family and retail for the local community.
  12. This closed gas & service station is at the corner of OST & Kirby. A bad look for neighborhood. Wonder when this will be sold and redeveloped?
  13. Covenant House Texas expanding services https://www.tmc.edu/news/2019/08/covenant-house-texas-expanding-services/ The organization has launched a capital campaign—Building for Life, Homelessness to Hope—that aims to raise about $25 million over the next three to five years, Executive Director Leslie Bourne said. In July, Covenant House Texas purchased an office building across the street, on Lovett Boulevard. The structure will be a key component of a campus reconstruction and expansion project. To bring attention to this daily crisis, Texas Medical Center President and CEO William “Bill” McKeon will oversee Covenant House Texas’ largest annual fundraiser on Nov. 21. As honorary chair of the 2019 Sleep Out: Executive Edition, McKeon hopes to raise $1 million by seeking the commitment of Houston business leaders—many of whom will spend the night outside to more closely connect with the reality of homelessness. “We’re here to draw awareness to some- thing we drive by every day and don’t see,” McKeon said during a spring luncheon with young adults on campus, noting that youth aren’t top-of-mind for many people who think about or encounter the homeless.
  14. Looked everywhere for this one. There was one mention in the Camp Strake thread. Its massive enough to have its own mega thread, but way to far out to be in "Going Up". Since we don't have a dedicated Woodlands, Spring, and Anything Further Out subforum, I'll be posting this here. Originally conceived in 2015 this one has taken awhile to get going (possibly due to Harvey), but have already started on phase 1 which is mostly low-rise residential and big box stores, which is something we don't touch on this forum. Its the "Urban Living", "Town Center" and "Business Center" that would get our attention. For info on phase 1 developments there is an article in HBJ: https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/blog/breaking-ground/2014/08/camp-strake-property-to-include-750k-square-feet.html Now for the real meat of the project. Developer: Johnson Development Corp Architect: Johnson Development Corp (Johnson Development Corp originally did The Woodlands, and currently are working on Bridgeland near Cypress) Estimated Completion: (Unknown) This is originally land that belong to Camp Strake. From JDC: https://www.johnsondevelopment.com/mpc_grand_central_park From Grand Central Park website: https://www.grandcentralparktx.com/ --From 2015-- From HBJ: https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/morning_call/2015/07/full-plan-revealed-for-former-camp-strake-property.html Original Video: Stills From Video: Images of A Proposed Lake House Amenity On Grand Lake and Overall Site Plan: --From 2018-- In 2018 Sam Houston State University announced it would open a Medical Campus at Grand Central Park. This broke ground in November 16, 2018. The first for the campus is a College of Osteopathic Medicine. The City of Conroe is working on plans for a hotel/conference center for Grand Central Park. Developer: City of Conroe + Garfield Public/Private LLC Architect: Garfield Public/Private LLC (maybe not sure) Budget: $86,000,000 Estimated Completion: April 2021 From Community Impact: https://communityimpact.com/houston/conroe-montgomery/development-construction/2019/01/23/final-report-released-for-conroe-hotel-and-convention-center-project-in-grand-central-park/ Another From "The Courier of Montgomery County": https://www.yourconroenews.com/neighborhood/moco/news/article/Conroe-considers-partnership-to-build-86M-hotel-13558668.php#photo-16819863 Images From Article: ...that should catch us up. @Urbannizer @Triton Do we want this in Going up? I'll let y'all decide. I'm fine leaving it here for the above reasons.
  15. My friend is finally putting Party Boy on the market for $10,500,000. Quite a sizable lot in a good developing area. We'll have to see what comes of this.
  16. Senterra Real Estate has a multifamily project in the planning stages for the NW corner of Richmond & Buffalo Speedway. SubdivisionPlatPDF_Senterra Richmond.pdf
  17. A Hard Rock Hotel & Residences is proposed for the southern end of Uptown, Sage Road & South Rice Avenue (3500 Sage Rd.) SubdivisionPlatPDF_Hard Rock Hotels And Condominiums-Sheet 1 - PP.pdf
  18. Looks to be a mixed-use development looking for investors. Can anyone make out the exact location? The event was held April 18th Edit: So I searched for the Hilton Garden Inn where the event was held and it turns out the hotel matches the one in the background (lower left corner). Site for this proposal is a grass field along  Sam Houston Parkway
  19. The property at 212 Milam St., presently occupied by the more-or-less abandoned Chase Motor Bank across the street to the north from Market Square Tower, has recently been listed for sale: https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/212-Milam-St-Houston-TX/15558588/ Here's hoping for some nice redevelopment to extend the skyline further north.
  20. Plat filed for the eastern half of lot that currently has the office building containing the Maritime museum and Andes Cafe on 2311 Canal St., so only the portion currently empty is covered. This entire property along with the one across the street bounded by Canal, Navigation, Runnels and the RR are owned by Midway (listed as KBRN on HCAD, same as East River). Both are highlighted in the attached picture. Judging by the shape I am thinking mid rise apartments, hopefully with some mixed use fronting Navigation. Anyone have additional info? Could this be the start of a larger "Gateway to the East End" project comprising both properties.
  21. Looks like the Admiral Linen facility (on 1.5+ blocks at Harvard/Center) is closing in January...just one block north of the new mixed use/H-E-B building at Buffalo Heights: https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2018/11/02/linen-and-uniform-rental-co-to-close-houston.html
  22. A lot of rumors about the Montrose HPD (900 block Westheimer) storefront closing, not surprising since HPD Chief Acevedo wasn’t a fan of store front idea. But a neighbor mentioned a developer had bought the entire strip ( Guess Theo’s Will be moving also.)center and a few adjacent lots north on Grant and on Crockett street including a beautifully restored 1920’s home. All for multi use multi-storied building ——included will be the Freed library’s move from Montrose Blvd. Apparently the developer did something charming around 6 th street and Yale in the Heights. Now I wonder if this developer will underwrite the HPD storefront in that development or if someone else will offer rent free space inside Montrose for the storefront to move into.
