  1. We had dinner at Goode Co Seafood Friday night. Our waiter told us they are moving across the parking lot to a new site in the building closer to I-10. Indeed, there is a restaurant being fitted-out there. What makes this interesting is that he told us that they're moving because their current building is being demolished to make room for a new high rise with ground floor retail. He didn't know if that included the Office Depot (and former Sports Authority) building to the west. Is this part of the Metro National property?
  2. Proposed 21-story high-rise development at Bunker Hill Rd & I-10. There's also an office building shown but it's unlikely to be built anytime soon. Site is currently being used as a staging area for Hotel Zaza.
  3. There's an empty plot on Kingsride that used to be a barbecue restaurant (sign's still there) and a Jack in the Box before that. It was torn down about two years ago for a Starbucks to be built there, but it's still an empty plot. Anyone know what's the hold-up?
  4. TCR is planning a multifamily complex near CityCentre, here's the site: http://devmap.io/developments/alexan-citycentre
  5. Behind the Nexen building they are currently constructing Johnathan's the Rub's new location. I think its an awesome step up from where they are now...a convenience store? Great food, great staff...love the place! Its tucked in the back corner of the prperty bordering Bunker Hill and Gaylord. Link to crude panorama http://i.imgur.com/3ZW3ugR.jpg
  6. Since Cobalt International Energy has moved into 920 Memorial City Way, BisNow tells us that the building is now officially the Cobalt Center. Reference pic from the BisNow newsletter:
  7. Cool 1960's remnants of a fountain (blue tile) in the atrium of the professional bldg. I love those round stair steps. http://i278.photobuc...os/DSCN0757.jpg There is a walkway bridge in the middle of the courtyard, where you can walk across on two levels, 1st and 2nd stories. There are two courtyards in this bldg. Hope they don't get lost with remodeling, that is happening next door in the hospital, connected to this bldg. Was so surprised to see this hidden gem.
  8. Anyone know what the boxed in things will be at gessner and I-10 and Bunkerhill and I-10. They are on the New freeways underpass. Second any clue to the bridge to no where is about designs or blueprints over at Gessner and Memorial city? Third, Longpoint remodel.. shame they don't get it, a nice wide four lane with median would be fine, but they seem to cut it back down to the old width just pass the Wirt...
  9. according to this article, there seems to be a need in West houston (which they call the geologic center of the city, believe it or not) that will be completed in 2010, at which the old hospital will be vacated and renovated. should make traffic fun there for a couple of years! Especially when you consider the various ramps to/from bw8 and I-10 are to be demolished in the near future. I look forward to this being comleted, though. Should make for an excellent addition to the city.
  10. Houston Business Journal 2:45 PM CDT Friday 4-8-05 MetroNational unveils newest Memorial City pocket park Allison Wollam Houston Business Journal MetroNational has opened the Anne Wilford Memorial Park, marking the third park the Memorial City-based real estate developer has opened in five years.
