Don't forget Randall's & Whole Foods on Bellaire Blvd, plus the Randall's on Weslayen. The grocery market in the West U area is already saturated; when the "super Kroger" opened, it took a lot of business away from the Weslayen Randall's. The new HEB will probably put the nail in the coffin for the Weslayan Randall's, as it is the oldest grocery store in the area, and was designed to 1980s standards.

Fidelis breaks ground on HEB-anchored shopping center in Willis community https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2021/09/07/fidelis-market-willis-shopping-center-broke-ground.html Fidelis, a Houston-based commercial real estate company, has broken ground on The Market at Willis Shopping Center. The project is at the southeast corner of Interstate 45 and FM 1097 in Willis, north of Conroe. Construction on the first phase of the shopping center, anchored by an H-E-B, has already started. The grocery store will occupy more than 110,000 square feet, according to Fidelis' marketing brochure for The Market at Willis. The Market at Willis is part of a new 510-acre master-planned community on the former Moran Ranch land. Houston-based Satya Inc. and Stolz Partners of Alpharetta, Georgia, teamed up to purchase the tract in Montgomery County in 2019, and Fidelis bought its initial 31.6 acres for the shopping center shortly thereafter. Fidelis later purchased two adjacent tracts, bringing the future shopping center to 69.7 acres. Phase one is expected to create over 200,000 square feet for retail, restaurants and service tenants. So far, restaurants include Crust Pizza at 3,000 square feet, Mod Pizza at 2,800 square feet and Akashi Asian Bistro & Sushi Bar at 6,000 square feet, according to the brochure. Retailers include the Texas Hair Team at 1,600 square feet, Great Clips at 1,200 square feet and Community Dental Partners at 2,000 square feet.

Has anyone heard if there might be an HEB coming to that area anytime soon? Grocery shopping out there sucks and I hate driving down the beltway to go to HEB. Thanks

The headline to Lisa Gray's recent article in the Houston Chronicle regarding the alterations to River Oaks Plaza says it best: Beige, Blotchy and Bland. Quote:"The snappy black-and-white buildings are turning beige. Fake stucco and more of that blotchy sandstone are covering the nifty old bricks. Above the building's canopies, new, taller parapet facades screw up the once-low-slung center's proportions, and allow more room for bigger, brighter signs." I'm with you, Lisa, and am stunned that anyone feels that this botched-up job is in any way an improvement. (If there's an existing thread on this topic, please merge.)

Got some info today about leasing of remaining spots. Apparently next to Carrabas will be Learning Express, an Eyelash place, a restaurant for just Mac & Cheese, an an optical store. On the backside will be a large nail spa, and a Blowout Place that specializes in blow dry services for the ladies.went to the Whole Foods today and I will have to say its quite nice!

What are they clearing the pad site for in front of Riverstone? It's between the new Johnny Carino's and the new light in front of Wal-Mart. I hope it's a restaurant, they already have enough retail sites there.

Most of the stores in New Territory are located in the Randall's anchored shopping center, right off of The Grand Parkway (99) and New Territory Boulevard. There are a few cleaners, and other small establishments at the intersection of 99 and 90. Many other shooping establishments are a (relatively) short drive away, such as the River Park center, at 99 and 59, which is anchored by an HEB. If you go East on 90, all the way to Hihway 6, and go southbound, there is a center there anchored by a Sam's club, as well as a Wal Mart. Of course, if you wish to drive a bit further, you can easily reach the many shoping areas in the First Colony area(including the mall, and town square). And yes, that stretch of 59 should be better, once construction is done. Currently, the main way to get to 59 from NT is New Territory Boulevard, which currently is detoyred through the streets under construction in the new Telfair subdivison. I once got stuck there for over an hour, and this was NOT during the morning commute. Thintgs should get better, though, as soon as the proper NTB route is established, and the diamond interchange with 59 is completed.
