Thought there may have been a thread for this but I guess one wasn't created before. Around this time in 2021 there was a mention that three locations would be opening in the area - in Humble, Conroe & The Woodlands by the following year. https://houston.culturemap.com/news/restaurants-bars/06-16-21-bojangles-fried-chicken-fast-food-restaurant-houston-locations-humble-conroe-the-woodlands/ Not sure what happened to those three locations, but the twitter account for the Bojangles Houston group mentions a location opening on August 15th. A tweet indicates it will be the location in "Richmond" at 19310 W. Belfort - Just west of the intersection of the Grand Parkway and Harlem Road. This piece from the Dallas Morning News on the store that opened in Euless indicates at least 10 more are coming to the Houston area, per the company's CEO https://www.dallasnews.com/food/restaurant-news/2023/06/27/as-bojangles-fried-chicken-opens-in-texas-ceo-says-20-stores-are-in-d-fws-future/ "We just signed a franchisee in Houston for a 10-store commitment. But we also have a company location in Houston. So we’ll have a company base in Dallas [with the four D-FW restaurants already announced] and a company base in Houston."

https://communityimpact.com/houston/conroe-montgomery/development/2023/04/10/16-duplexes-taking-shape-in-conroe-to-meet-housing-need-for-foster-youth/ "Conroe-based Angel Reach is responding to the need for housing at-risk youth by constructing Angel Reach Village, a community under construction in Conroe. The duplexes in Angel Reach Village are expected to open around August with infrastructure and utilities complete as of late March, Angel Reach Executive Director Jean Radach said in an interview. Angel Reach, a Conroe faith-based organization assisting youth ages 16-24 who are aging out of foster care and at risk of homelessness, broke ground on the village in Conroe alongside The Signorelli Co. in October 2021. When complete, the first phase of Angel Reach Village will feature 16 duplexes with 32 beds. According to a March 22 news release from The Signorelli Co., First America Homes—the company's homebuilding division—had begun construction on the first eight duplexes with each home spanning 550 square feet. The additional duplexes planned in the first phase will be constructed by HomeAid and Gracepoint Homes, constructing three and five duplexes, respectively, Radach said."

I noticed that there was a mult-story steel framed building going up in downtown Conroe the other day, and didn't see anything about it posted on HAIF. Not a huge project or anything but very interesting to see a "urban" type of construction happening in the old part of Conroe. I always thought it would be cool if downtown Conroe grew. Woodforest Bank tore down its small branch in old downtown Conroe and is replacing it with a larger 3-story office block as pictured below: Article from courier/your conroe news: Woodforest Bank building a downtown Conroe landmark of the past, beacon for the future Rendering of the planned building, courtesy of the CEDC website article: Downtown Conroe Prepared for Major Growth

Looked everywhere for this one. There was one mention in the Camp Strake thread. Its massive enough to have its own mega thread, but way to far out to be in "Going Up". Since we don't have a dedicated Woodlands, Spring, and Anything Further Out subforum, I'll be posting this here. Originally conceived in 2015 this one has taken awhile to get going (possibly due to Harvey), but have already started on phase 1 which is mostly low-rise residential and big box stores, which is something we don't touch on this forum. Its the "Urban Living", "Town Center" and "Business Center" that would get our attention. For info on phase 1 developments there is an article in HBJ: https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/blog/breaking-ground/2014/08/camp-strake-property-to-include-750k-square-feet.html Now for the real meat of the project. Developer: Johnson Development Corp Architect: Johnson Development Corp (Johnson Development Corp originally did The Woodlands, and currently are working on Bridgeland near Cypress) Estimated Completion: (Unknown) This is originally land that belong to Camp Strake. Houston area to get a new commercial airport? Whoa! Now this would be interesting. What airlines would service this? Southwest maybe? https://m.chron.com/neighborhood/moco/news/article/Conroe-North-Houston-Regional-Airport-could-add-13637260.php

Tommorrow Tuesday October 24th, 2006 Local High Schools in Harris and Montgomery Counties as well as other surrounding counties will be participating in the Area UIL Marching Band Competition. Each campus will have a specific performing time. The competition will be held at Moorehead Stadium at Conroe High School in Conroe ISD. It should really be a great event. The Klein Collins Band from Klein Collins High School in Klein ISD has a really great show this year, (Godzillia Eats Las Vegas). There use of props and visual techniques is very impressive. They also have great marching technique. I think they will advance to finals and eventually State. Klein Collins performs at 7:15 pm.
