    I am just curious about something.......Growing up in the 70's I had an older brother who was a bit of a juvenile delinquent ( At least that's what they called out of control kids back then) After breaking the law a few to many times, they sentenced him to a boys home. I am trying to remember a certain one. I believe it was located out in Clear Lake, and I remember on family visits, that they had horses, canoes and it was like a summer camp. I guess the juvenile justice system sure has changed. Just wondering if any one has any information on the place. Back then it was all under The Harris county youth authority, and I know they had several other places in Texas.

The Clear Lake City Water Authority, an entity that provides water, sewer and drainage services to the Clear Lake area, began the Exploration Green project in 2005. Phase 5, the final phase, was originally projected to be completed by the end of 2022 or early this year but was delayed due to weather, said John Branch, vice president of the CLCWA board of directors. “They had a lot of rain for a while, and we do give them credit for rain day work and getting on dirt when it's all wet out there,” Branch said, referring to the contractors."

    Has anyone heard of Camp Killkare owned by John Henry Kirby. It was located on Armand Bayou (Middle Bayou), above Clear Lake. Is there any photos or history of this place. It shown on a 1929 map of the Clear Lake area. Thanks.

    My apologies for posting on the same topic in two different forums, but I thought there might be people on this forum who, like me, missed the original discussion on this in the Real Estate forum. As others of you already know, GHPA added the West Mansion to their Endangered Buildings List.     Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital begins expansion https://communityimpact.com/houston/bay-area/impacts/2019/12/24/houston-methodist-clear-lake-hospital-begins-expansion/ Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital, 18300 St. John Drive, Nassau Bay, on Dec. 17 broke ground on its expansion. The hospital plans to create a new six-story medical office adjacent to the hospital. The 150,000-square-foot facility will provide space for physicians, orthopedics and sports medicine. The building should be complete by the end of February 2021.
