Anyone know what is going up on Gillette next to the Ashton West Dallas Apartments and the Federal Reserve? Green fencing, a portable building and 2 port a pottys went up Monday. I remember seeing that the city was selling the property but haven't heard anything since. There is also direct access to Allen Parkway Eastbound from Gillette now. Construction occurred over the last few weeks for that.

Broadstone West 18th St. Lofts: Multifamily At 2727 W. 18th St.

I have noticed that they have started clearing a large piece of land on 18 the street and 610 N loop right accross from the Whataburger. It is across the freeway from the new HISD building. Does anyone know what is being built? -
Did anyone else catch the "deal of the week" blurb in today's Biz section of the Chronicle? Towards the end it makes mention of a 20 story medical office tower to be built at 3800 Main in Midtown. Says it will have 500,000 square feet and that it is 65% pre-leased (which leads me to believe it will break ground soon). A co-development between Greenberg + Company and Quality Infusion Care. This would be a HUGE tower for Midtown and really stand out. Isn't the 3800 block near the 12 story HCC tower?

From my window I have noticed over the past month that a couple of double storey warehouses have been cleared on what looks like two separate parcels along Gillette St. north of Dallas St. I'll post pics later tonight. Anyone with info, please post up.

Saw this under construction few weeks ago but couldn't find it online -
The Shrine Center over on 2900 N. Braeswood & Brompton has been an institution for many long time Houstonian's. The center has catered to hundreds of charity events, weddings, Annual Gala's and the list goes on. It was announced that the property has been sold and is in it's final months, days until it meets its demise. Built just around 1970-71 it will always be known for its cavernous ballroom and adjoining rooms to cater to anything under the sun. Ironically the huge chandelier that is centered above the dance floor was salvaged from the Rice Hotel. Now where will it go? Anyway its a real shame this place is going.
