  1. Mm. Yes. Low-end projects such as patio homes. Always could use some more patio homes, right there along Washington.
  2. There's one major flaw about Greenway: Mass transit. The only bus that goes by here from a commuter's standpoint is Northwest Transit Center. So, if I were coming from Katy, I'd have to go to Addicks, get the bus to NWTC, which then winds its way down 610 and eventually over to Greenway. If you ask me, that's just way too much bus switching for one person in the morning. Most of the companies here, like Direct Energy, have MetroVans that employees started up. But most of them are already full. I can't imagine coming in from, say, Spring to Greenway. :shudder:
  3. As lwood said... This is for you lazy ones who don't want to go to HAR and search. This is the rendering on the MLS: Edit: Floorplans, people! Post floorplans when you sell a townhouse/condo/apartment. No one likes to just see some stupid rendering. Half of us could care less. Bring me my square footage and where the garden tub in my master bathroom will be in relation to the window, presently! This Azizi guy has my attention - if I could see a floorplan and some standard features; I'd snatch this thing up in a heartbeat. McKinney and Polk? That's a one minute walking distance to my old building.
  4. Found this: (PDF) Capital Improvement Plan Go down to page 12. "Existing sub-standard water; wastewater, storm sewer infrastructure plus deteriorating structures & abandoned rail infrastructure; have hindered efforts for redevelopment & development in the area." And this is old and it may have been linked already. Downtown Houston Market Analysis Page 75: "Several projects under development: [...] Herrin Lofts: 45 units." No opening date and it's from October, 2001. And this site lets you do a search for 'Herrin Lofts' for sale. I'm not sure why. Better Network
  5. Still being gutted. (Sorry, still no pics. ) The four story building is most likely to be new construction, since there's nothing else really around the place. There is/was a parking lot? on the west side of the building... Maybe that's where it's going to be? That or it'll be a parking garage for the place. Every morning I drive by, it seems they're tearing more and more out. They knocked out the east side's (can't see in the rendering) glass and you can see inside to the elevator shaft. They're knocking down a whole bunch of walls on the bottom levels - probably in an attempt to be more open. I wish I knew the orientation of that rendering. And I wish it would stop raining so I could get some decent pictures.
  6. My fiance and I lived in 2016 Main, on the 17th floor, for three months and all I have to say is: we would do anything to be back in that location again. Right on the lightrail or 10 minutes of walking to work, hundreds of places to eat (all within walking distance or along the LR)... We were on the 45-side and, even at 17 stories, it's noisy. You get really used to it, just like anything else and it is a perk/downside to living in downtown. After my second night, it was just like listening to the ocean and I had the BEST view of downtown. The opposite side of the building is dead quiet, so you do have a choice. All the staff is extremely friendly, so are the residents.. Best of all, the only people you hear are the ones out in the hall. There's a 3-4ft crawlspace between every floor and the firewalls keep out most of the noise from the units next to you. The only downsides I ever saw were: No grilling on your balcony (any neighbor who even thinks they smell smoke will report you to the HOA, who will fine and/or lecture you). Smoking's up to the owner of the unit, so if your neighbor smokes, you'll most likely be smoking too. /Rant Sorry, but I felt like 2016 Main's name needed some good sides to it in this thread. My fiance and I are considering purchasing a unit here (or 1700 Main), we love it so much.
  7. I see. I drove past the building on my way to lunch. They're already gutting the place and look like they've been doing so for awhile now. I wish I had my new phone, or I would've taken pictures.
  8. Looks like it's ready to go. Realty News Report Find the address down on the page - it's under "June 20, 2005." From the page: New Cambridge Development, 10101 Harwin Drive - Houston, TX ^- Anyone know if this is them? I can't find a webpage, only Yellowpages listing.
