Demo - 1438 W. Alabama St. & 3707 Mulberry St.

well then may the contractor forget to pick up a few nails.... -
it has been SOP for 30 years now. My ex wife worked for a civil engineering company that was owned by a guy from Ecuador. They got a cut of most of the City's business due to minority/chick owned business set asides. Fortunately, they were competent, unlike what is left of Figg.

Palms Theatre On Highway 90 At Ulrich St.
Tumbleweed_Tx replied to Highrise Tower's topic in Historic Houston
In March of 1980 I saw Coal Miner's Daughter at Palms. Flash Gordon came out in December. I think they were converting the balcony to a second screen then... I don't remember much of the movie since I was with this chick named Debbie..... .- 11 replies

Palms Theatre On Highway 90 At Ulrich St.

I saw Star Wars there in the days before they converted the balcony to a second theater. It's where all the Sugar Land kids went to the movies.- 11 replies

why not just tear the Pierce down and be rid of it. Sell the land, that will offset some of the land they have to buy to move the freeway.

Lockwood South: Buffalo Bayou Multifamily At 733 N. Drennan St.

Pick A Part used to be on the lot next door, where the long rows of warehouses are. I wonder how much of a cleanup LKQ did before they left that property...- 88 replies

it should have been built this way. The freeway expansion project predates that strip center, they knew traffic could suck through there - Commercial Drive is a two lane road with a left turn lane, traffic on that street sucks from 8am until 8pm.

Tumbleweed_Tx replied to Montrose1100's topic in Downtown
I was going to ask if this is the building occupied by the Harris County DA's office, but, since they called me yesterday to interview me about a wreck I was in last June, my question was answered... it's next door.- 183 replies

TxDOT Proposes Elevating I-10 near I-45
Tumbleweed_Tx replied to Triton's topic in Traffic and Transportation
I will make sure to point at you and laugh as I drive my gasoline powered car by you as you sit in the middle of nowhere recharging your electric hoopty at a diesel powered generator recharging station. And... for sh!ts and giggles... take a lithium ion battery and drive a nail through it. You will want to stand back when you do that... That is what happens to electric cars when they get in an accident.- 187 replies

GreenStreet: Mixed-Use Development At 1201 Fannin St.
Tumbleweed_Tx replied to MontroseNeighborhoodCafe's topic in Downtown
weird, the address is wrong. 1201 Caroline is the bar that may or may not still be Reserve 101. The stupid place is 1204, this one should be an even number address. btw, if y'all are ever inclined to cause mayhem, all the pin numbers at the stupid place are 1204.... -
TxDOT Proposes Elevating I-10 near I-45
Tumbleweed_Tx replied to Triton's topic in Traffic and Transportation
I would like to see every freeway intersection look like my favorite one, the I-10 East ramp to the East Loop North, but, realistically, it's not going to happen, and some urban scarring will have to be lived with.- 187 replies

The Birds of Hermann Park
Tumbleweed_Tx replied to editor's topic in Museum District/Hermann Park/Rice University area
This is now a general bird thread.. . I saw this guy and it's mate in my front yard late one night, this was the best picture I could get with the junk cameraphone I had earlier this year (that garbage phone has been replaced) They have long beaks, a decent wing span, and their legs are about a foot and a half long. At first, I thought the neighbor had the poor taste to put flamingos in her front yard, but then they moved...
