Will this site contain skyscrapers? I've not seen any renderings yet.

There appears to be a new mixed-use development coming to Westheimer and Mid Lane before the railroad tracks. Stonelake Capital Partners is behind this development.

From this thread, it seems like there will be numerous of bars within this project. Did I analyze this correctly?

What's under construction on the top right block in the second pic?

So, Midway isn't going to do anything with this, since y'all talking about an amusement park?

I would be so happy if ROD can just tear down Target and build another phase in its place.

What? Memorial City & Willowbrook have almost the exact same stores. In fact, looking at both of their directories, Willowbrook actually has more "higher end" stores. Memorial City has a Target & Military recruitment offices. So I have no idea what you mean by overpriced and snooty.
Personally, I've been to both, and prefer Willowbrook too (but for different reasons). Apart from the Holidays I have never seen that many people in Memorial City. There are empty store fronts by the kids play area/movie theater, and it smells awful. The only way I could see Memorial City as being snooty is the area it's in. If you include the Town & Country area, City Centre, and the new highrises/restaurants, then yeah... I guess it's snooty?
The difference is Willowbrook is more suburban. The same surrounding stores/restaurants exist along 1960, a little further.
Also, the Galleria is not snooty. A majority of the shoppers are average people. Of all the times I've been (Live really close by), I have yet to be trampled by women in fur coats, followed by their assistants carrying multiple cylinder hat boxes.
MCM is ALWAYS crowded. Parking is horrendous just like CityCentre and Town & Country. MCM is going through some type of renaissance in which it's becoming more like Galleria II.

Any updates? I hope it's still on.

I don't think it's a bad looking tower.

underground garage with retail in a podium. All glass facade 30 + floors. All glass facade. I'm not the only one that saw the rendering, hopefully it will pop up here soon.
Is it nice?!?!?!

I hope Midtown becomes more of a tall downtown!

I can't even get excited.

When are they going to build this thing?!

I agree with your about #1, But there are so much more worse things...
#2 Mercer without question
#3 Astoria
#4 Embassy Suites
#5 Hampton Inn/Homewood Suites
5555 Allen Parkway is tolerable. Cosmo is also tolerable and way better looking then the Dominion.
As far as architecture that "tried" instead of being so eroded with cost savings,
#1 Still Godzilla
#2 Hotel Granduca
#3 Dominion
#4 Methodist Outpatient TMC
#5 Skyhouse 1,2, and 3.
Don't forget about the gray apartment tower off Richmond and Sage! Yuck!

God! I can't wait to see the rendering!

I'm still a little confused about what UH is worried about. If someone wants a UT degree today they currently leave Houston. Now, we'll just have more students stay in Houston. It will make for a more vibrant city and could enhance UH by encouraging more redevelopment in the third ward. They'd anchor a triangle (Rice, UT, UH) that could host thousands of students and encourage even more student life.
Again, you are forgetting about TSU!
