Sorry for no updates. Lots of life stuff. Also I moved, so no more top-down updates on Astoria / 4 Oaks.
That said, lots of good stuff breaking the tree line.

Given the recent report that the Houston-Dallas HSR could terminate in the Galleria / Uptown Park area rather than Downtown... is there a chance this site becomes the station (link to article below)? A College Station stop was also referenced which would point to a 290 route into town.
I can't find the article, but my recollection is that 20-40% of JR profits are from associated real-estate development at their stations (hotels, retail, etc...). A large site with additional development potential would seem reasonable If we assume they bring a similar model to the US.
[EDIT: see 2013 financial report... ~25% operating profit comes from non-transportation though their subsidiary structure is complicated so that may not be exactly right ... https://www.jreast.co.jp/e/investor/ar/2013/pdf/ar_2013_all.pdf]

Interesting sign up for the lot directly north of the SkyHouse (parcel 'D'). Something to the effect of "Randall Davis... ground lease available".

Interesting. It seems like a lot more than 51 acres... but maybe that's just the feeling of an empty parking lot.

Yeah... this is screaming skyward... 9th floor now I think.

That plan looks like total ass. Also, I can't believe they have built the world's largest sign on top of the thing too.
Pretty disappointing considering it will be next to the transit village in 3 years.

Thanks for linking TowerSpotter.

While the whole comment is amazing, I really like "The entrance to this building wants to be here!".
Amazing.

Set-back is on the south side. As is the 7th floor pool.

Great info. Much appreciated.

If you haven't been able to witness the morning insanity at that McDonalds, I would consider a trip over. From 7-9am there are two (repeat, TWO) off-duty cops directing traffic through the drive-through lines, which stretch (side by side) all the way to the street. If you want "quintessentially Houston", this gets my vote.
As an aside, since I live across the street... They have improved the cluster-f**k of left-turns there. So while it's completely insane, I appreciate their presence.
