  1. I'll Price is Right you and say 41 stories with street level retail on all sides of the building
  2. It was mentioned somewhere a page or so back on this thread or "The Sovereign" thread. Also looking at the rendering, the bend in the road if you will also matched the location. It looks nearly the same as on google maps
  3. Not exactly, there is basically, West Village and Victory(fail). Dallas lacks the grid street pattern for true urban growth. The size of downtown and uptown together can't be more than half of Houston's downtown. The street design coupled with the fact that most of the fancy highrises have either large setbacks with fences around them or minimal to 0 street integration has already killed the chances of a truely urban center
  4. Yes! This is my go to course! Never too crouded, cheap (like 25 with a cart last time I went), and there is a mexican guy on Wayside that will sell you like 40 golf balls for 7 bucks!
  5. Went to Katsuya last night and it was jam packed, along with every other bar in the area. Its a pretty cool place and the food was great. Any word on when the next phases of West Ave. will start being built?
  6. Just drove by and they have some posts out almost all the way out to the sidewalk. I don't know if it actually for the patio, but as of now it does appear that it will go out to the sidewalk.
  7. That would be huge, but I think that it is going to be a local affiliate similar to Fox Sports Houston...but its just my opinion
  8. Reading the description that says nothing more than 475 cals kinda turned me off too it. There website changed my mind though, looks pretty nice.
  9. http://www.rdmag.com/Lab-Design-News/News/2011/12/New-Projects-Sheikh-Zayed-Bin-Sultan-Al-Nahyan-Building-For-Personalized-Cancer-Care/ I think it was posted on here in some other topic about a month or so ago...but here you go.
  10. http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2012/01/31/apache-expands-office-at-post-oak.html Pure speculation, but to me seems plausible that this could be the building they are talking about... "Houston-based Apache (NYSE: APA) had been considering its real estate options, including possibly pre-leasing space in a proposed office building that would not be built without a commitment from a lead tenant."
  11. Maybe they could do something like the Dynamo Stadium with the mesh. I think it looks cool on the stadium and would be kinda continuous even though they arent necessarely together. The mesh skin was cheap and it looks fairly unique.
  12. No reason to make it iconic...in the end it is a pedestrian bridge, most likely only accessible from that hotel. That being said, something like the allen parkway bridges, moo, 59 bridges, ok...Appealing sure, and I could see it happening, Iconic...no way and def overkill
  13. http://www.blvdplace.com/InteractiveMap.htm Looking at the map I think there could be several things going on. I agree with Lockmat on the location, this is right where building 4 of BLVD Place is. So maybe they decided to scale back and sell (or are in the process of selling) that part of the development. Less likely would be squeezing the astoria between the existing BLVD place (building 6) and building 4...would be very ambitious seeing as it is pulling teeth to get anything going in the first place but I can be hopeful I suppose!
  14. Driving by this on 610, it really has an impact in the area as far as infill and the look to uptown. Now if we could just get a tower on the inner loop side of san felipe...
  15. http://www.rdmag.com/Lab-Design-News/News/2011/12/New-Projects-Sheikh-Zayed-Bin-Sultan-Al-Nahyan-Building-For-Personalized-Cancer-Care/ 12 stories, Completed in 3Q 2014
  16. I like it, looks like they could have some very big balconies, just out of curiosity how many stories is 2727 kirby?
  17. http://downtownhouston.org/site_media/uploads/attachments/2011-10-25/111024-AECOM-Final_Report-HDMD_Post.pdf Full project pdf
  18. http://bizjournals.com/houston/news/2011/11/15/md-anderson-to-break-ground-on-new.html Building is breaking ground today.
  19. Very sweet...could be a huge addition. Connecting to discovery green is obvious. People come for the conventions and such, now we give them a reason to stay downtown. I like!
