  1. It's better than what is there currently. I do like that they are at least saying most retail will be new to this area...better then having another yogurt, Starbucks, whole foods, apple store
  2. It looks as if the gas station will stay. My only hope is that they bury the power lines. Cool looking place and great addition! Any word on the other development on Shepard and W. Alabama? This area is going up fast!
  3. Very interesting, would be thrilled if anything of the sort was built there! It is in kind of a "dead zone" between midtown and DG but I think it is smart for a large scale project to bridge the gap between these two places. Should make it easier for smaller scale apartments, retail ect to fill in between! But what do I know, just and engineer here going off my intuition!
  4. A lot of tickets were scooped up by corporate types that own the seat but don't attend the games. Same thing happens with rockets games.
  5. Happened to drive by this site today. They have closed of the road in the middle of this site (forget what street that is) and they have some dirt movers near the old building. Looks like something might begin to happen soon
  6. Honestly that is the last thin I would want. We have plenty of good chefs in this city that I would much rather support instead of some average restaurant with Bobby Flay's name on it where he will never cook.
  7. It looks very Gotham/1920s to me. I like it a lot in the rendering, we will just have to wait and see as to how it translates in real life. There is so much going on here: The Astoria, Hanover (BLVD), Five Oaks, BBVA, Skanska, and the one on Westheimer....getting kinda crazy!
  8. Not necessarily. There could be two separate structures connected by bridge, a la Galleria over Hildago or the apts by Dynamo stadium. And in the end Prairie is cut off just a block further, so no biggie right? Edit: Suppose I should read before commenting, if he is buying Prairie, then of course he will build on it!
  9. Trade Lowry and #12 to Sacramento for #5, draft Andre Drummond Trade Martin, #16, #18 to Toronto for #8, draft Austin Rivers With the money saved Sign Dragic to ~8-9 mill for 4 years and add a veteran or 2.
  10. It's a great location for an apt. complex. For one I would love to live across the street from Marquis II... that way after my night is ruined from a Texas tea or 2 I am in little to no danger. While it doesn't do much for the urban "feel" of the area, it is probably one of few large plots of land available in the area.
  11. Anything less than a West Ave style development would be a disappointment in my book. I guess it is promising in the sense that there is no grass to speak of on the lot to turn it into a garden style apt development.
  12. Didn't want to start a new thread so I figured this was close enough in proximity to ask...Does anyone know what is going on across 59 on Shepard? I passed by today and they are pretty far along on building something. I forgot the name of the company on the fence, but it was CW ...something like that. A Anyway there is a pretty deep hole being formed. Any information is appreciated!
  13. Just passed by, there are workers on site and appear to be taking out some of the trees on the lot. Concrete has been dug up in some portions and there are some big piles of sand. I'm not sure if it is related but in the parking lot across the street near the ATT building there is all sorts of metal part. Regardless the prep work on this building seems to have started.
  14. What is interesting to me is that while this project is being scaled down drastically, BLVD place on the other hand had been scaled down, but then somewhat revived (Partially to portions of the plot being sold to other developers correct?). Granted they are not from the same company, but being so close you figured that they would try to compete with each other in some sense. While this project is nowhere near as exciting as it could have been, it is still a nice addition. The setback from Westheimer doesn't bother me, look how "vibrant" and exciting Highland village is. The fact that this seemingly does nothing to interact with High Street is far more disappointing than a couple of parking spaces in front of a building(s).
  15. Wan't sure where to put this but across the street at the McDonalds there are two trailers that say: Randall Davis - Terranova now leasing. Does anyone know what these could be for?
  16. BAHHH hah I was literally just about to post this! This is what I found on Crosspoint's website as far as a rendering, but I am not sure if it is for the same spot. It just says Louisiana and Elgin, too lazy to see what that address is.
  17. Can someone clarify approx. which lot this will take up? All the Phase2=Phase 3 = Phase 2 nonsense has me confused!
  18. Great pictures, the stadium looks fantastic! I also like that the scarf tradition holds true in Houston. Nothing says scarf like a chilly 100 degree day game haha!
  19. I am afraid you might be out of luck for opening day...but who knows there has to be someone around the stadium day of selling tickets!
  20. Exactly, I was in a discussion with a friend of mine on the subject. I was saying Crane and Co. should find an organization each week and give away as many upper deck seats as they can. Say 2000 soldiers and their families that kind of thing. It makes the crowd look somewhat more full and if 1 person buys 1 concession out of the 2000 then that was money you otherwise wouldn't have had! Again this is all in theory and I'm sure if people would find out that 1000s of tickets were given away they wouldn't be trying to pay for them, but it was a nice thought!
