  1. Four month timeline for abatement and demolition - wow. Here's our post, with link to pictures: https://www.facebook.com/archarchive/posts/2154010627989482
  2. ^Oh no! I would have loved to see that!
  3. I use Google Drive for most everything - they offer 15GB storage for free, and then $1.99/month (or $19.99/year) for 100GB.
  4. I lived next to Turtle Pointe in 1999 - definitely well on its downhill way then..
  5. Wolfe (Beechnut) was one of my first jobs - I learned a lot there about plants! And I still have my old name tag...
  6. Maybe it was for the gas station that used to be where the CVS is now on the corner? That would be pre-2005 ish.
  7. Update: http://swamplot.com/whats-new-about-a-remade-1960-walnut-bend-mod/2017-12-29/
  8. Back on the market! http://www.har.com/43-cedar-lawn-circle/sale_59397031
  9. I have the best deal with Comcast for internet and AT&T U-Verse for TV (I haven't had cable for years until this month!). My neighborhood just got AT&T fiber enabled, so I may look into that soon. But yeah, all depends on where you land here.
  10. I went through there - a pretty boring neighborhood but fun to see the streets!
  11. Oh wow - great pictures! And the Jim Dandy sign on the corner!
  12. Mackie Dee Oil and Development Company also shows up the September 1, 1911 issue of the Houston Post under "New Houston Corporations" https://texashistory.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metapth443220/m1/55/?q=mackie
  13. Even with the hyper/overdesigned Camry, it's still stodgy - and the grill now makes it looks like it has an annoyed, pursed mouth. The Lexus is just a costlier extension of that.
  14. Latest is new parking lot construction and parking variance by "Elysium 1634 Westheimer, LLP." This is the old site of the long gone Kewpie Cleaners.
  15. Commenting to follow - I don't know the history of Big Chief other than it changed to Arlan's around 2012. They also rebuilt the McDonalds out front and removed the teepee that it had.. http://arch-ive.org/archive/big-chief-foods/
  16. There have been many in between, but here's another one about to be demolished: 438 Faust Ln. http://memorialbendarchitecture.com/438fau.htm http://www.zillow.com/homedetails/438-Faust-Ln-Houston-TX-77024/28013649_zpid/
  17. Alfa design, for sure - to me, that Honda CRV is still the same uninspired CRV I've always seen, though..
  18. I really hope that Foods and Liquids was just a generic hashtag and not a name drop - that sounds terrible, IMO..
  19. I can't wait - I went to the Silver Lake store in Los Angeles and loved it..

Mod of the Month in April 2008 (http://swamplot.com/the-house-that-time-and-architect-forgot/2008-04-23/) and now again (http://houstonmod.net/news.asp#142). The listing's last two pictures of the surrounding new construction is pretty gross, though, and is realtorspeak for "perfect lot for your new McMansion." http://www.har.com/4815-braesvalley-dr/sale_78493994
  21. E-Tron namesake for new Audi electric crossover: http://jalopnik.com/the-first-all-electric-audi-suv-will-just-be-called-e-t-1787877501 As for the design, yuck. Maybe it'll grow on me but with that grill and Dodge-ish feel, bleh :'(
