Hubcap Grill Beer & Burger Garden Coming To The Heights
west20th replied to Moose's topic in The Heights
Great. Shepherd/Durham could use some new/different businesses. -
Guess the deal makes more sense when fully explained. I suppose my dislike of churches in general (not just Lakewood) not paying property taxes colored my opinion on this particular deal.
-
A good deal would have been Lakewood paying market value for the property. Didn't HISD get 38Mil for a smaller parcel of land nearby? A parcel that is now generating property taxes for the city?

Do you really think sarcasm directed toward a con-artist like Joel Osteen is an insult to religion in general? Joel Osteen and those of his ilk is what should offend you.

Toddle House Restaurant No. 3 At 2802 S. Shepherd Dr.
west20th replied to morpheus's topic in Historic Houston
There was a place called the "Toddle House" in the new(er) strip center on the SW corner of Richmond and Dunvale. They weren't very successful and closed in less than a year. They re-opened recently with the "Toddle" removed from the sign. They are now just the "House" restaurant. -
That's right! We're bad. We're bad. Hey you find something fabulous at Eclectic Home and you don't have enough cash whatya goin' to do?
-
Pssst.....this law does not apply to you. Texas - House Bill 55 - Provides that an operator may not use a wireless communication device while operating a motor vehicle within a school crossing zone unless the wireless communication device is used with a hands-free device.

Pizza in Houston

Chicago's Pizza on North Main. -
No just the opposite. People will be drinking the tea instead of tossing them around at the tea parties. Maybe they can have a coffee clache instead. But to get serious and back on topic. Will hot tea relieve the pain if you're a re-animated zombie craving brains?
-
It's as plausible as Pat Gray's theory that this is a government conspiracy to limit public gatherings. Yep, it's an Obama plot to stop the Tea Parties.

They first went up when the brick facing on the upper floors blew down during Ike. Not sure what the delay is in getting rid of them.- 4 replies

So what is your point? That he was there "trying to do a pickup". A man can't drive around in his own neighborhood? Do you have any facts to back up your assertion or are you just being a gossipy old lady? Also, how do you know so much about what this area is like late at night? Cruising around "trying to do a pick up"?

Technically not the Heights but the Heights area. Nicholson is the second street east of Shepherd. -
The Heights Restaurant And Bar Scene - More Coming

Second on Cholosos. They had some service issues when they first opened but that all seems to be worked out. -
Speaking of Sister Agatha here is a link: http://community.rice.edu/focusresources/b...atha/index.html Very interseting read for those that may not be familiar with "The History of Houston Heights" by Sister M. Agatha
