Post Oak Shopping Center At 1703-1751 Post Oak Blvd.
pineda replied to suzerain's topic in Uptown and Galleria Area
Lenny's Sub Shop, located at 1500 Research Forest Drive (at Six Pines Drive), is a wonderful place to get either a sub or a Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich. Even the kids loved their ham and cheese sandwiches, complete with chocolate chip cookie. The person we spoke to there said that there are already approximately 90 of these sub shops, but this is the first one in the Houston area. They have plans to open 80 in the Houston area within the next five years, mostly franchises. The one we visited has been open about five months now, is very clean, very fast with friendly employees, and as I said, really good sandwiches! -

Been to both Potbelly Sandwich Shop and Johnny Rockets with the family. Our verdict; interesting for one time only, we won't be back, food nothing special... -

Listening to the story on KTRK, they mentioned that the two developer guys had already done a similar project in Denver. Anyone here ever seen it? If so, what did you think of it, and would it work here? -

Speaking of the Houston City Council meetings... What's this all about???? (found in the minutes of today's council meeting) "20. ORDINANCE granting the petition of THE WOODLANDS LAND DEVELOPMENT COMPANY, L.P. to include certain land in Montgomery County, Texas within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Houston; expanding and extending the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Houston to include all of such land in accordance with section 42.022B of the Texas Local Government Code" -
Galatas was also on the Grand Parkway Association Board of Directors for years.

I agree that it is beautiful, but on some hot still summer days, the water smelled mighty funky wafting up in between P.F. Changs, Cheesecake Factory, Brio and Rockfish. Also heard recently that Brio and Rockfish not doing too well.

No, it's been gone a long time now. It was very nice when it existed, though. You really should come back to Houston, you seem to miss it here an awful lot...

I lived close by so we walked or rode our bikes up there a lot, mainly on the way to Westbury Square to go eat at Ruppleheimer's. I think the restaurant you're thinking about was Britton's or something like that. When I was a teenager, my first job was a clerk at the TG&Y, next door to Weingarten's!

Sorry if lumping a story about Huntsville into the category specifically reserved for Woodlands and Conroe was either confusing or upsetting to you, but hey, what a great story about Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Tx.!

This may have been Terry or Tony LaBonte. One was the father, the other his son who raced later also. I remember hearing about the LaBonte name in connection with Meyer Speedway.

The Woodlands College Park High School At 3701 College Park Dr.
pineda replied to bachanon's topic in Points North
Brooklyn Bagels is located near College Park High on Honor Roll Drive. They will be making stops at the school, every hour on the hour, delivering bagels to teachers and staff, throughout the day. They also say that students have the phone number to BB keyed into their cell phones and BB will meet the students at the school in the morning with their bagel order, so the kiddos won't be late. I'm wondering if the new high school has Starbucks coffee coming out of their water fountains, too....- 28 replies

In 1987, Monterey House declared bankruptcy. Showbiz Pizza Corp. bought them out and has operated them ever since under the name of Mexican Restaurants Inc., which also owns Casa Ole and Monterey's Little Mexico and Tortugas. They franchised the market on poor quality and bagged foods. The current president is Curt Klowacki who was previously at Steak and Ale restaurants. I wouldn't recommend eating there...

Note: Topic discussion for both Spring Creek Greenway and Cypress Creek Greenway Hike and Bike Trails. https://www.bayoulandconservancy.org/spring-creek-greenway Sorry, mods/Editor, if I have "hijacked" the Woodlands/Conroe thread header and turned it into one that encompasses not only those two places, but also Tomball/Klein/Spring. Maybe you could consider changing the header to something like: Anything north of F.M. 1960 and south of Dallas!

In reference to an earlier thread, I think bears repeating; in terms of pedestrian-friendly, check out this story about Gonzalo Camacho in the Houston Press and his idea of a tunnel under I-45 to preserve green spaces above: story in Houston Press about Gonzalo Camacho Gonzalo's idea of a tunnel Gonzalo Camacho is someone whom I would consider a Houston visionary!- 147 replies
