  1. Its good that they are renovating it instead of tearing it down. GP+parking is HUGE, you know its nearly a kilometer from the entrance at greens road to the parking spots that edge up to the ramps for the BW8/45 interchange.(measure tool on google earth)
  2. Houston has DD! Yay! now i can get a big bag of munchkins finally.
  3. Best place to get chow-chow: Antoine's Po Boys Best place to forget your parking brake and watch you car roll 50 feet down the concrete embankment into the big scary drainage ditch: the Antoine's parking lot Best place to see how fast your car can go: 288 @ 2 am runner up: hardy tollroad airport extension @ anytime
  4. who you callin white?...hehe im just kidding...but we are all brothers... When you say small businesses, you mean those gypsy people who sell athletic shoes? btw, i live in college station now, so i havent been there i while.
  5. Yeah ive been there... then i saw on the news some punk shot another punk. Maybe im just overexxagerating, but still, its gonna take some large measures to convince people with more money to go there. And yeah, maybe meyerland shouldnt count. I dont know when it became a shopping center, i dont even remember what it looked like. And the new center is very nice. Mainly i just listed all the malls that arent in good shape or where demo'ed and replaced to support my statement that this town built too many malls. BTW, ive never been to alameda, is it nice? i know squat about that part of town, so i figured id leave it off my list just to be on the safe side
  6. I was thinking, houston has a TON of malls. Maybe thats why with the exception of a few they all stink and are going to go out of business. Here's what i mean: Sharpstown Mall-Crappy, Outdated, Dangerous, Dirty, etc. Westwood Mall-Not a mall no more Greenspoint-you mean gunspoint... and lots of stuff there is closing Northline-Is it even still there? Northwest-Old, Outdated, Ugly, Dying Westchase-My 1985 Mapsco keymap says there was a mall there... i guess it didnt make it eh? Town and Country-Impossible to get to, glad they tore it down Gulfgate-Dumpy, now its a mega big box center..boring... Meyerland Mall-is no more... Pasedena Mall- is almost empty San Jacinto Mall-Its a ghost town in there... North Oaks Mall:There was really a mall back on 1960, right? Yeah, we got some nice malls here, like the galleria and memorial city, and im not trying to say shopping in houston sucks or anything, but its too bad we have all these blighted albatrosses in the city. I think Sharpstown could be saved like Memorial City if there is more security to change its image, but for the rest i think they are toast. Of Course we also have many nice malls: West Oaks Willowbrook Baybrook Deerbrook Woodlands First Colony Memorial City Galleria
  7. Yeah, pretty soon it'll be 'Houston becomes worlds fattest city!' ... wait.... nevermind... we already are the fattest city.
  8. they did that on the first few seasons of the simpsons. They were putting up flyers and the simpsons phone number was KL5-8345 or something like that.
  9. lol. also, the light rail train, not only does it look like MetroRail, it doesnt even look like a light rail train. It looks like a Locomotive and a Windowless baggage car or something...
  10. the libertarianess of houstons development makes it more fun anyways. with zoning it would be all nice yet boring, not all mixed up and interesting. It may be too bad these old homes have to go, but then again these new townhomes are saving hundreds and hundreds of acres of farmland from becoming suburbia at least in the time being(you cant really stop houston sprawl). And besides, they dont look that bad, in fact i think they are really nice looking. Also, this is houston, people are not going to flock en mass to restore and live in these shitty old houses that are tiny. Houston is surrounded by towns full of little houses like those that arent going anywhere soon.
  11. I got to go there when i was little. i only remember a bit about it, and what i do remember wasnt anything spectacular. Just sort of a plain city. Subway was nice and clean...
  12. I bet if this deal falls thru they'll blow it up and build a CVS or something... i hate that building. It looks like one of those towers in sarajevo. Even when it was new i bet it was hideos. Same goes for University Tower in college station, but at least its occupied
  13. they should build one of those neighboorhood walmarts. stuff is cheaper there. And at least they sell razors there that one got me
  14. hold up. Funplex? on channel 39 they had disney cartoons in the afternoon and during the bumps some guy from the station would be there promoting the place. i remember now
  15. maybe its not such a bad thing that they are the eat out capital. Its only a matter of time before they are the most obese city in country and not us.
  16. The train tracks that go right thru are one of the only ways for trains coming from temple and college station to get down on the line to corpus and san antonio without having to go around the ship channel area, i think.I think that UP wouldnt want to give that track up. Remember when all the railroads companies merged and they had that train traffic jam? i remember taking the hardy toll road and there would be trains end to end parked the whole way.
  17. hey, dont want to be rude, but for these people its a whole lot different coming from a blue collar suburban neighboorhood to a snoody high rise, and although the dogs are a mess, im sure the owners will adjust to caring for them in that setting, and the dogs will start to learn that it needs to go potty when the owner takes it down the elevator to the grass and not in the elevator. Also, im sure the kids will start to mellow out eventually. Besides, there really isnt much for them to do up there besides play video games. I mean, geess, before these people came in, how many of y'all had kids and dogs? i can tell by the fact the building has a club room and not a nursery/game room or a playground that the number would've been less. If you think about it, its sort of important to get more kid and pet friendly urban living arrangements in this city...
  18. it would look real good to developers considering larger family sized condos to have a brand new high school close by. but who am i kidding?
  19. that thing looks more like a new high school or community college and less like a federal reserve bank. and why cant they call it the Houston Branch Federal Reserve Bank instead of the Dallas Federal Reserve Bank?
  20. im pretty sure that thing at the aiport is a rubber tired automated guideway system and not a monorail or light rail. and farrells is restarting and there is a new one one in santa clara, california
  21. haha, i went to copperas cove high school(by kileen) and we had 3 of those things. and "honor roll drive" sounds so cheesy it makes me want to fail on purpose.
  22. Whoa. thats from WAY back. my mom might have watched them.
  23. killeen has a krystals burger. it opened about a year ago. also, what about Hardee's/Carl's Jr. Their sort of expensive but you get a ton of food.
