  1. This was taken a week or so ago (date when the photo was posted). jpc
  2. I work @ 610 and San Felipe (next door to Clear Channel). My building is right on the feeder overlooking the freeway. I was zoomed in to 150mm, so it may appear closer. jpc I really like this photo. The contrast of the bayou trail greenery and the skyline is great. jpc
  3. My favorite view is the one from my office window.
  4. I think they can if they get a pass rush and the cornerbacks are as good as they potentially can be this year then they have a shot at taking out the Colts. Hopefully also they open up the offense a bit more. Jerome Mathis could be interesting as he is a burner that can contribute right away on special teams and potentially could help the offense a lot. Oh yeah, and the RB position needs to stay healthy and deliver. And don't forget the OL needs to protect. Wow, I just raised a ton of question marks, but I still believe!
  5. When I lived in Pennington, TX, we had a similar thing. To call anywhere in Pennington, you just dialed the last 4 digits. To call to another town nearby, you just dialed a prefix digit + the last 4 numbers. Crockett, for example was like 5+1234.
  6. Right, it's South Rice. It was confusing becase they left off the "South".
  7. It seems like uptown since I don't know where Rice Blvd and Richmond meet.
  8. Makes me kind of nostalgic. My dad worked for HISD for 30+ years and was in that building for a good portion of it as deputy superintindent. I remember as a really little kid thinking the "Taj Mahal" was a pretty cool place.
  9. Those are amazing. When the Trinity River would flood, we would wade out into the flats and go bow fishing. I've seen some that are well over 100lb and would give you nightmares. (queue the theme from Jaws)
  10. FWIW, I think the sports page is very good. There are a number of columnists (John McClain, Richard Justice, ...) who are as good as it gets nationwide. Other than that, I really only check out the headlines on chron.com every so often and I'm not dissatisfied. But I don't have a high bar really.
  11. It's like 2.9 miles for a single loop, but there are markers to let you know where the 3mi point is and almost every point in between. jpc
