Well I was'nt able to find a thread for this but,...Is this still a possibility?
I've found renderings of the Westin-Bay planned for Seabrook (don't know if there 'new' or not).
Old rendering from the Endavour Magazine.
New Rendering:
Additional Renderings:
This upper-upscale mixed-use development is located in Seabrook, Texas, a small town within the Houston Bay Area. The 10-acre site enjoys 1,500 linear feet of shoreline at Clear Lake, a recreational body of water opening into Galveston Bay. The project is accessible from NASA Road 1 with easy access to multiple highway connectors to the Houston Metro area and Galveston. The NASA campus and the newly-built cruise terminal can be reached within a five-minute drive. The master plan aims to create a place for the city of Seabrook featuring water access, retail and entertainment. The Westin Houston Bay Area is anchoring the development with its entrance near the terminus of the main retail street in close proximity to the shoreline. A second street within the development leads to a soon-to-be developed class-A Office building targeting a total build-out of 200,000 sq. ft. of rentable space.
The 23-story mixed-use development includes The Westin Houston Bay Area with 250 rooms and suites and The Residences at The Westin Houston Bay Area, 65 units ranging in size from 800 to 3,200 square feet. Selling prices range from the low $400's up to $2,000,000 per residential unit.
The Westin Houston Bay Area offers 15,000 square feet of meeting space with a ballroom capacity for up to 400 people, a destination restaurant and a two-story bar overlooking the lake. The hotel rooms feature Westin's award-winning Heavenly Bed, Flatscreen TV's, Minibars, and large work desks. The Heavenly Bath offers large soaking tubs and separate glass-enclosed showers with a proprietary dual-shower head.
The outdoor pool and cabanas are located on the second level adjacent to the 8,000 sq. ft. Spa and the Westin Houston Bay Area Workout Fitness Center. Residents have access to all services and amenities of The Westin Houston Bay Area, from 24-hour room service to weekly housekeeping calls and a private underground garage.
Wischermann Partners developed the overall concept for this mixed-use project, securing the Westin brand via contract negotiations with Starwood Hotels Worldwide.

Since March of last year, [Matthew] Morgan and [Kevin] Kirton have submitted various versions of their permit application eight times, and the city has rejected it eight times.Since one definitition of insanity is taking the same action repeatedly and expecting a different result, some observers have speculated that the developers were building a record for a lawsuit. The language in their timeline shows they

There's an ad on yahoo on a New Vehicle. Under the pic of the vehicle it says 'replay ad'. If you click on that, its an animation and it shows Downtown Houstons skyline in the background (and some other buildings from other cities).

It was only one woman's proposal.
This woman's proposal has went very far.
I think this will happen, The Houston City Council will most likely pass this pretty quick knowing them;anything with great potential and brings money into Houston and Texas will get the Houston City Council and the Bill Whites attention. It will be presented to them next month.
Here's the KHOU video from August 08

I've seen a (not so great) rendering of the Nano Headquarters. Also NanoHeadquarters will be near 288 just outside the loop correct? yes? no?
Here's an artist concept.
From November.
An artist's concept shows the WaterLights District in Pearland, which would include a waterway, condominiums, hotels, office buildings and a facility that would promote nanotechnology development.A local developer and a group of scientists hope to show that even the little stuff is bigger in Texas.
They want to create something called "Nano World Headquarters" just south of Houston in a 150-acre Pearland development called the WaterLights District.

They should shell it except for the basic structure and make it into a park (with lots of overgrown greenery) built upon the ruins of where the astrodome once was. It will be like our Roman Coliseum except bigger and with landscaping.
There's much more land in and around Houston that can be turned into a park with overgrown greenery.
We do'nt need anymore parks! (For now)
Also the website has been updated!

Where? Specifically.
You seem to be trying to disagree with me, but in fact you are just repeating exactly what I said.
I was'nt trying to "disagree" nor "repeat" what you said. I just made a statement about mountain lions.

Ok you guys as I was headed toward Houston today, I saw this tower (currently on the 2nd floor and I sorta knew that somethng was being built there) but, I don't know how it will look when completed....
Its kind of ironic how the Galveston County Daily News did a story on this today though, they even have a pic.

Construction ongoing at specialty care centerConstruction continues on a 110,000-square-foot University of Texas Medical Branch specialty care center near Interstate 45, FM 646 and the Victory Lakes subdivision on Wednesday afternoon. The facility will cost $61 million. The first floor could be finished by spring.
So, can someone find a rendering and more infomation on this please?
_________
Also two more towers are going up (possibly) right on the side of the feeder road near Nasa Road 1 in Clear Lake. They had a rendering and a "coming soon" sign on the site (before Ike now its gone) but, nothing happened for a while. Now today there were some equipment on the site.
All I can say is when they had the renderings up for this, it was two towers, blueish/greenish glass and somewhere between 4-6 floors (maybe more, maybe less).
Can someone find more information on this as well?

So has this project already started? If not, when is the estimated construction start date? All I can see from the photo is some fences...
Yes, construction has started. Here's a pic from December. Theres two cranes in the pic as well that are most likely for the tower.

I am highly skeptical that they've seen a wolf...
Wolves have been eliminated from Texas for 40 years. And even before then, their range was in south and west Texas, not the Houston area.
A few trickle in from Mexico, just like mountain lions and bears, but those are in south Texas.
Well beileve it or not, Mountain lions are moving back north int Texas and SW states from Mexico.
Also Wolves are still in Texas.
