Looks like they had a tight budget.

The Karlin Railyard redevelopment proposal was floated in January 2020… is it that one again?

was hoped to be integrated with a podium that would expand the Convention Center itself.  That would be excellent design work.

Turned out to be an existing project that gained height but coming in at second tallest (858’).

That's ridiculous. It's hundreds of homes in a perfectly fine building. Is it less than it should have been? Absolutely. But it's a whole hell of a lot better than a vacant block.

Agreed. With Skanska planning a good amount of retail next door, Montrose Collective a few blocks over and a number of shops and restaurants within walking distance the area will be fine without it here.

Has Oxberry Group ever done anything that would be considered aesthetically pleasing, and not built on the cheap.

This is extremely disappointing especially considering what was supposed to be happening on these blocks.

Some groups shouldn't be allowed to leave their marks on public property. One step forward and two steps back.

They’re behind The Mond in Museum District, which was VE somewhat but came out pretty well.

Mill Creek Residential, a leading developer, owner-operator and investment manager specializing in premier rental housing across the U.S., today announced construction is underway on Modera Garden Oaks, a five-story apartment community in Central Northwest Houston.

The community, which broke ground in November and will feature 327 apartment homes, is centrally located one mile north of the Interstate 610 loop and one mile west of I-45 in the Garden Oaks neighborhood. The site closely borders the Oak Forest neighborhood and will put residents within five miles of Downtown Houston and within six miles of The Uptown Galleria, one of the city’s most popular mixed-use destinations. First move-ins are anticipated for late 2023.

  7. There’s word floating around that yet another supertall is in the works. It’ll be taller than 98 Red River. This comes from two different users on SSP (one being a very reliable source). Start date of 3Q 2023 with a four year construction timeline. We may learn more from the design commission meeting late next month.
