  1. Is the tower on the left the new office design or is that an existing building? The base for the hotel doesn't seem a little oversized for the tower portion to you guys?
  2. What if they had practice fields stacked on top of each other? That might be pretty dope. I see no reason why their complex couldn't be vertical. And why do they need to relocate the practice facility? Seems perfect where it is right now.
  3. You're right, they didnt look related to construction. They look really old and thin, too. Really odd because of the kind they are and the timing. Strange, but probably irrelevant.
  4. On my way in this morning I saw a girl cleaning a window but the rest were still dirty. I didn't think to look again during lunch.
  5. The bottom floor has curtains in the Windows? Are those new?
  6. for some strange reason the bottom level windows are still filthy. not sure what they're waiting on.
  7. I don't know if it's the same spot but I saw the same thing a few weeks ago and all they did was cut out a very small section of the parking lot leading me to think it would just be a storage area. check that. Just saw you posted that 5 hours ago. Did you see the boundaries of the line?
  8. someone would have to be fired. they have a lot of hosts. 2 for the first show, 3 for the next and 3 after that. I can't really imagine how he'd fit in.
  9. This area, standing in the middle of DG, is feeling awesome. I'd be a little surprised if this area doesn't start booming more than it already is if/when the market picks up again.
  10. The pedestrian experience and feel for this place is one of the best in downtown, despite the top of the building not being the best. Finally walked by this afternoon.
  11. Dont really care what goes on it, I just would like it to feel integrated with the streets and feel as public as possible. Avoid anything that feels like it's an enclosed development. Put as many streets on it as possible. Don't build ugly garages.
  12. I think this is a no brainier. Parking underneath made sense no matter the plan.
  13. I'm really not trying to be that guy who thinks just because he has seen it in person that he is the authoritative opinion, but the tiles do not look good at all in person. The green is great, just not the tiles. Who here that has seen it in person likes it? Just curious.
  14. Oh ok, I must have missed that. Thanks.
  15. It was reported today Rice is one of a handful of teams selected to make presentations to join the Big 12. Its extremely likely they don't get in, but kind of shocking to hear they're in the running considering they were never mentioned before.
  16. Looks like it. Good observation
  17. They must be repairing or fixing them up, right? I can't imagine them thinking it looks better without them
  18. Is there a lot of open office space downtown? Surely that doesn't mean they're building the tower, does it?
  19. A tweet by an ESPN personality thought aloud that UH might concede to UTs expansion plans in Houston for entrance into the Big 12. I think UH could do big things if it gets in the Big 12. Really excited.
  20. Are you serious, a garage was rumored? If that's the case and there are no future plans to build on top of it, it will totally cripple the potential these surrounding blocks have.
  21. I don't hate the color, actually I really like it. It's the fact that they're bathroom tiles that kills me. Maybe if they polish them up or put some artsy paintings they'll look better.
  22. Thats nothing new. Look at the Texaco renovation for instance. The future tower/garage will block the view of many north side apartments. I also wouldn't be surprised if Hines' downtown apartment tower might have the same issue when El Big Bad is someday torn down for a tower.
  23. My simple guess is rents and construction costs. They also build closer in the burbs where most of their employees live.
