    “No need to oversell” Cmon man. It’s the friggin World Cup. Final Fours are nice. WrestleMania is too. Super Bowl LI (2017) alone brought in $347 million to our local economy for ONE FOOTBALL GAME The World Cup is the biggest sporting event worldwide and Houston will be hosting MULTIPLE matches, likely at least a Group Stage with potentially hosting additional knockout round matches for a global tournament that will be expanded (48 teams) in 2026. The revenue it might pump in to the local economy will eclipse any event this city has ever hosted in its entire history. It’s a global spotlight we’re fortunate to have. The city needs to capitalize on this massive opportunity.

    That might be the case but Houston, nor the US had the 2026 World Cup back in 2017. Landing hosting duties earlier this year likely changes things and might have revived this project. Maybe new ownership (Ted Segal) and its reinvestment into the Dynamo/Dash and PNC Stadium renovations possibly contributed as well. Their timeline clearly state’s community engagement meetings begin in January so we’ll see. The other linear park on Bastrop (East End Promenade) you speak of has long been completed, albeit at a scaled down version from the original vision.

    Crane owns part of 119 after the city abandoned Chenevert through the site. The ballpark mixed use development at the Home Plate site (161 + 119) would help serve as the connection to the Convention Center area. The only block undeveloped remaining would be the super block of 120 & 100.     The Mix never got built (except for Pearl at The Mix on Travis, disjointed from the other two Pearls on Elgin). Both Mix sites are across Elgin from each other. Like one big project with 2 phases. Would’ve been nice if built.

    This is confusing as that building already had renovations recently completed. I pass by it every day. The ground floor is ready for build out wherever it’s leased. Has a nice center court view you can see from the street. Would make a nice spot for a restaurant.

    Pretty certain. Ballpark Village is south side of the park. West would be along Crawford and the Astros had this plot along with the old halfway house plot directly across Crawford from where this activity is on going. They’ve got parcels to do something with so I wouldn’t be surprised if there was another project separate from the ballpark village.

    Avenida De Las Americas is a mouthful. Could rename it to Richard Kinder Blvd. Or you rename the Downtown portion of Dallas Street too to avoid confusion with W Dallas St. But that might more work with changing addresses than renaming ADLA.

    Tilman was already quoted back in 2018 as they were looking at major renovations.     Not exactly. This is NOT the Greyhound bus station but the old building across the street, although it provides bus service too. The Greyhound bus station specifically needs to go. And no more TDC prisoner drop offs there either.

    The agreement Crane has with the city is only for the home plate site on Texas @ ADLA. This site will be a mixed used ballpark development project. Not sure what Crane’s plans are for the other parcels of land he owns around the ballpark.

    All of the Alonti locations downtown have closed up. 919 Milam is undergoing renovation work, which is why Beck’s Prime and Brown Bag Deli are closed. Neither of their spaces (nor DiMassi’s) has cleared out so they’ll likely reopen after the renovation is done. From what I’ve seen last year to currently, YES I’d say the tunnels feel like they’re back now, especially in the last few weeks.
