  1. Architect for new Terminal D to be hired by the end of the fall. Does that mean previous renders were just placeholders and project's design may change with architect hired? Construction by Late 2017 https://communityimpact.com/houston/lake-houston-humble-kingwood/development-construction/2016/10/06/iah-plans-4-billion-facelift/
  2. First thought: If one of the proposals is to open up the lobby to the street, can the Jones Hall renovation be tied into Jones Plaza renovation with Theater District Master Plan? Jones Plaza is also slated to begin work early in 2017 http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/arups-masterplan-endorsed-for-houston-theatre-district-300153023.html
  3. Jones Hall, celebrating 50 years this week, will be renovated. Plans to be unveiled in early 2017 http://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-texas/houston/article/As-it-turns-50-Jones-Hall-a-mid-century-beauty-9972783.php?t=ccd9400a0f438d9cbb&cmpid=twitter-premium
  4. 288 Northbound TMC flyover ramp to Holcombe is going to have very interesting setup. IIRC, there's a gas station and Burger King in the way of all of this? How does this all help if there's a freight line that could stop traffic just west of all of this lol
  5. Thanks @monarch. There's still work to be done but I think they'll be wrapped up by Thanksgiving, maybe sooner. There was work being done yesterday while the place hosted multiple events with weekend crowds enjoying the good weather next door. The ADLA work is down to installing the "Wings Over Water" (WOW?) sculpture, the Wharf, and landscaping. Exterior work is down to applying the final pieces. Most of the work left is with the interior spaces. The grand lobby & concourse have some work to be done but are fairly close to completion. But the restaurant spaces haven't started work yet so that would be the only concern IMO.
  6. Interior update: View of ADLA, Disco Green & the skyline from the balcony. Love how this is all coming together...
  7. Still black at the moment. I kinda like the nickname "Blackwater Bay" lol
  8. Pool activity. Guess Alessandra felt left out with all the focus on Aloft's pool.
  9. I first saw it in a CultureMap article covering Crane's new restaurants a while back.
  10. IIRC, the trading floors are at 1K Main. If Shell is consolidating into spaces they own, I'd presume the trading floors move from 1K Main to 1 Shell Plaza.
  11. CultureMap article on Post HTX development with Frank Liu. Mentions 2 phases, 5-8 year timeline. http://houston.culturemap.com/news/city-life/09-16-16-post-office/#slide=0
  12. I agree @monarch. The design is consistent with existing complex and will fit in quite nicely when complete. Now if only Midway would open up entrances with patio seating along the Dallas St side (along with that rooftop park atop Forever 21)
  13. Some weekends when I ride by, I've come across poetry readings on the steps of the old library during book sale events. Surprisingly, the poetry readings I've encountered do draw a small crowd (and not of bums) so a small stage seems like a good idea for these types of events.
  14. Pool looks filled and ready from my vantage point.
  15. View from the office of Catalyst, 500 Crawford, Alexan, Aloft (and pool filled), The Star, & Le Meridian.
