Not only is it staying, they were painting a pastel rainbow pattern on it this afternoon. Matches the steps on a nearby staircase. -

New renders out, pretty much aligned up with the video above. Groundbreaking on 9/28. My 2ยข: The design seems to lack any personality & character. I like the roof skylights but it will still feel like a warehouse when the roof is closed.

I'm in favor of a Northwest Mall terminus as long as it also connects to MetroRail, Uptown BRT and a Park & Ride Transit Center (maybe relocate NW Transit Center here). And since this site is connected to 2 major freeways (and Katy nearby), maybe this could become our regional intermodal transit station with Amtrak & Greyhound services integrated. It would also be nice if this regional intermodal transit station lead to additional mixed use development on the site too.

Beer Market should be open this week (if not already) Holman Draft Hall building is going to look dramatically different from its former VRSI look. Lots of windows added to the building. Can't wait to see the finished product. I'll try and get a pic tomorrow...

There's one new tenant who'll consolidate all Downtown offices here next year.

The tower is supposed to go up where the parking lot currently is. Until dirt moves there, this is only a parking garage (with possible future intentions). It's Skanska 2.0 so pray for tenant.

Lets say this visitor had a smartphone with Google Maps (like most nowadays). Why would this person walk up Rusk when they're next to Bayou Place (and a nearby Birraporetti's)?

I haven't seen it discussed anywhere but this recent HKS video provides a good idea of what the new ballpark will look like. Some deets: 1. The MMP-style limestone arches have been redone in left field, now inverted perpendicular, and now clad in brick. It's a good thing cause if they kept the limestone arches, the new place couldn't compete with MMP's view. Also, this double-deck space could be used for thousands of standing room only tix, like at neighboring AT&T Stadium. 2. The other MMP-style aspect seen previously was a Crawford Boxes style seating section in left (HOK's proposal pre-vote) 3. In Blueprints shown, new park appears to have similar dimensions to Globe Life. If so, wouldn't be surprised if fence heights and LF out of town scoreboard carry over to new park. There also is a berm in center field. The setup definitely feels like a nod to Globe Life. 4. One bullpen is definitely visible in right field stands, could be stacked just like at Globe Life.

Bruh... I dont think anyone in this town, suburbanites included, expects the Downtown Tunnel System to be open during the weekends. If you want food Downtown on the the weekend, it's not hard to find. Just venture around Market Square, North End or now around Disco Green.
