  1. In 1948, the Cullen family donated money to build the St. Joseph Hospital Cullen Family Building located at 1401 Pierce Avenue. Also designed by Ilton E. Loveless. Decades later, it was home to a Mental Health Care Center.
  2. The old and historic St. Joseph Convent & Chapel is located at 1905 Crawford Street. Designed by Ilton E. Loveless. The chapel is in behind the building.
  3. I really like what Toronto is putting out these days. The architecture is similar to Melbourne and Sydney Australia.
  4. Construction update this week. Parking garage.
  5. JLL released a new marketing flyer for 1800 Post Oak Blvd. This land is prime real estate. I can't think of any Houston real estate that has the exclusiveness of 6 acres a long POB. https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/1800-Post-Oak-Blvd-Houston-TX/30070317/ A select few sheets from the new marketing flyer:
  6. One-half of the building has been demolished. One last look. Should be done by the end of the week.
  7. 59 North was shut down this weekend. Talk about a traffic nightmare! Demolishing a freeway ramp: Thick rebar a long Westpark. Skyscraper and ramps.
  8. Saint Arnold has helped me expand my beer pallet. I was just about the IPAs but now I can appreciate other beer styles such as Bocks, Pislners, Stouts, and Ambers. IPAs are great, but there is much more beer out there. Nothing like a crisp, bubbly, summer Pislner. My picture:
  9. Bertner Avenue building signage is now up! TMC3!! Notice the Baylor College of Medicine building signage in the background. Just perfect! Those Elkus Manfredi fins are fantastic.
  10. For what it's worth, there is a new property marketing flyer listed on Loopnet. Shame what happened to this proposal. Really hoping there is a capital investor to fund this development sometime soon. I know that Houston's life science sector really hasn't gained traction yet. Let's hope it picks up steam soon! https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/700-Holmes-Rd-Houston-TX/28452325/ A select few of the flyer sheets: . .
  11. This week's construction update. I believe the podium is completed and now they're going to start on the hospital floors. Just an amazing building. It's so stout.
  12. MD Anderson South Campus Research Building 5. UTHealth School of Public Health. MD Anderson South Campus Garage 2. [New] MD Anderson South Campus Hazardout Materials Storage Building located at 7777 Knight Road. The building is being built by J.T. Vaughn Construction.
  13. Concrete pour today. This one is moving fast! The curved walkway path has been demolished.
  14. I see these two companies all of over the Texas Medical Center. Airgas and Praxair are industrial gas companies. https://www.airgas.com/ https://www.lindeus.com/ Praxair outside of MD Anderson north campus.
  15. Drove past a very unique, small, town home complex located at 7909 Knight Road in the Texas Medical Center. Photos I took today.
  16. This residential house is pretty interesting. It's in the middle of a large 100-acre (ish) MD Anderson campus called MD Anderson East Campus. This is one instance where the home owners refuse to sell to the company. There's a thread on HAIF somewhere dedicated the "hold outs." Pictures I took today. All of MD Anderson's vacant land a long Almeda Road.
  17. Welp. They are doing a facade remodel here? I wonder why they just don't demolish the 1950s building? A nurse at St. Luke's told me the original hospital is prone to flooding. Pictures from today. Facade remodel. Front entrance. The original brick is falling off. Old school windows that need a power washing.
  18. I've been thinking HAIF can play a game. Really dorky and nerdy but I had the idea. Since the TMC is recognized globally, I wonder if HAIF can spot all 50-state license plates around the Texas Medical Center. In one parking garage today I saw 3 states! It really is amazing how people from all over come here for treatment. Indiana. Georgia. New Jersey.
  19. Today I stopped by the UTHealth University Housing located at 1885 El Paseo Street. A little background: https://www.uth.edu/housing/future-residents/ The Phase I property (7900 Cambridge) was built in 1982 and offers first and second floor units in one, two and three bedroom floor plans. The Phase II property (1885 El Paseo built in 2005) and Phase III property (1885 El Paseo built in 2014) All students, staff and faculty of UTHealth, Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) and MD Anderson Cancer Center are encouraged to apply for Phase I and II. Phase III is available only to full-time UTHealth students. A boom and a portable toilet on site. Some remodeling going on here.
  20. My buddies are located here. McGovern Historical Center and Archive located at 8272 El Rio Street, Suite 190. Texas Children's Hospital also leases space here for their Supply Chain Warehouse. https://archives.library.tmc.edu/ Pictures I took today: McGovern Historical Center of the TMC Library shipping/receiving. Texas Children's shipping and receiving area. BioReference Laboratories.
  21. This multifamily complex has traded hands and has been rebranded. Post at Afton Oaks now oddly named MAA Afton Oaks. Photo I took today:
