I always wanted to like King Biscuit. But.... The jams were awesome, though.

The Rose Garden is an awesome bar and VERY friendly. Rose always asks where I've been and why I don't come by more often. Either she has a good memory or she says that to everyone. I stop by there with a friend once or twice a month and I know 4-5 of the regulars. Don't know how Rose would react to a fullblown heights yuppie invasion. haha

Big Mamou is a LOOONG way from being as good as Jazzie Cafe. Go out there and try a Po Boy with fried rice sometime.

Someone told me you can't run gas into an upstairs detached apartment. Was he crazy?

I stopped by the new HEB to scope it out last Friday. Too big, too crowded, too....much concrete and traffic and highway noise.

Amen to that!

I went in there a few times. It just didn't work as a store. It didn't work as a restaurant.
