This thing is going to be a beast in this location. I'm still in amazement that this thing is actually going up. Never did I think that this project would actually fall through. Definitely the building I'm excited to watch at the current moment

Downtown Houston 2025 Master Plan
fatesdisastr replied to MontroseNeighborhoodCafe's topic in Downtown
As much as I would hate for it to happen it looks like to me they would change the facade. The dark glass is what makes this downtown building iconic in my eyes. Looking at the teaser, everything is blacked out except the Pennzoil Place itself. Which to me signals a change in the facade color. -

Haha I didn't mean your post. I meant there must have been a lack of communication for a brand new fence to be erected and then taken down just a few weeks later.- 988 replies

I think your sense of direction is off TowerSpotter lol. Ellington Field is just outside the beltway off the Gulf Freeway.

University of Houston Football Stadium
fatesdisastr replied to KinkaidAlum's topic in Third Ward and University of Houston
I agree, its probably one of the worst stretches of road in town. It would however make sense to not invest money in fixing the roadways if they hope to close it off in the coming years. Only time will tell. -
It seems like to me towers such as this and the International Tower will reign in a new era of Houston architecture with their fantastic sharp lines and glass facades. These two towers really do set a higher bar and standard for the downtown area. It certainly will be a beautiful building upon completion.

As far as I know that has always has always been the idea to someday to close Cullen through that part of campus. Not sure what kind of effect that would do the flow of students in and out of university. -
Did something change? The article states "CF Jordan Construction is building a 35-story residential tower at the address." Anyone know anything?

I was thinking that the other day but then again I am really not sure what kind of amenities luxury high rises have anyways. The only thing I can think of would be pool, sauna, spa, and workout room.

GreenStreet: Mixed-Use Development At 1201 Fannin St.
fatesdisastr replied to MontroseNeighborhoodCafe's topic in Downtown
Since it has begun I think we should have the mod change the title to "Houston Pavilions to Greenstreet Renovation" or something along those lines. -
Is anyone else completely flabbergasted at how quickly things on this tower have progressed? Aug 9th Swamplot reports on it Aug 14th The rendering is revealed Aug 25th Construction starts this Fall If this tower can sneak up on us like this, makes you wonder what else might sneak up on us next.

I say good luck to the city if they try to choose mandating a sidewalk tax after they have screwed over citizens with the water run off tax that didn't work.

Haha I certainly know that I appreciate you sharing your humiliation and embarrassment with us. It sounds like something I would do sadly as well. Gave me a good laugh.

I am more or less just excited the dome's fate is now in the hands of the citizens of Houston. Once and for all we will all know how much this icon truly means to this city. Regardless if the vote is yay or nay, we only have ourselves to blame for the choice that was made. I'll probably pop some popcorn and watch that vote trickle in with utter anticipation
