Or maybe just enjoy taking pictures while you’re out? Join us for an online webinar where we’re going to discuss: #1 Lead Events: Leading events is easier than you might think! We’re going to talk about what it means to lead an event, The biggest part is being there on time and helping the group find you. We have tons of event ideas that you can use and we can help you plan new events if you have your own ideas. Or just take it and run with it! Events can range from short urban walks to long hikes. Travel, Miller Outdoors Theatre, volleyball night, escape rooms, rock climbing, dancing, socials, bike rides, scavenger hunts, geocaching… pretty much anything that sounds fun! #2 Write Blog Posts: Do you enjoy writing fun and witty pieces? We’re always looking for pieces about places to go, outdoor activities, gears, rewriting event descriptions, etc. Or sometimes take an existing piece and spice it up! #3 Take Pictures: You’re going to events anyway! Snap photos and share them in our drive to use on social media and the websites. We’re looking for fun photos that really capture where we are and the fun people we’re with. It’s outdoors so you’ll get some much needed Vitamin D You’ll meet others who are also looking to get active! What does active mean? At HTXoutdoors we have a wide variety of activities. From casual walks to running. From indoor rock climbing to outdoor climbing & trekking. From short day hikes to multi-day backpacking trips. From sipping on beer or wine at a local establishment to wine tours in Napa and even Italy! And this is just a peek at what we like to do. You get to choose which activities you’re interested in. You can start out slow and work your way up or you jump in running. We know the best activities whether it’s hot, cold or wet outside. So join us this month to see what it’s all about and meet other people who are also looking to get active and meet people. Order your drinks inside at the bar. Luigi’s pizza is on site and there is usually another food vendor or truck there. Parking: There is a decent size parking lot and tons of street parking on the block. You shouldn’t have any issues. How to find the group: Look for the tables that have blue HTXO signs, stickers, and koozies. No dogs, please. We are very dog friendly when it’s cooler outside. While you’re there, grab your BCO or HTXO performance shirt. Available in long or short sleeves. About HTXO HTXOutdoors is Houston's newest Group of Active Houstonians in their 20s & 30s who love outdoor activities, socials & exploring Houston. 3. Wakefield Crowbar 954 Wakefield Dr Houston, TX 77018 Are you looking for more than just another happy hour? Our happy hour and volleyball event is a great introductory event to help you get active outdoors and to meet other people who are also looking for more than just happy hour. Plus having games to focus on, helps remove some of the awkward pauses that can happen the first time you meet someone. And the best part… you’re meeting people with similar interests. Not just people interested in happy hour or volleyball. The group of people who attend this event are looking for new friends who want to explore Houston, try new things, and get outdoors! No experience is required for volleyball We’ll spend a little time warming up and going through the rules. Then we’ll play a few games… we can get as competitive as you all want, but mostly, we’re there to have fun. We’re an inclusive group which means we still hit the ball to new players who may or may not be able to return it. It’s the only way people can get better! Don’t you want to play volleyball? No problem! Plenty of people come out just to socialize on the large patio, play a game of cornhole or ping pong! Plus, they have a full kitchen and bar, including 30+ taps. What to expect: Getting there: You can’t see Wakefield Crowbar from the street near the railroad tracks. Once you turn, you’ll see a large dark parking lot. Wakefield Crowbar at the very end of the parking lot and fully lit when you get there. Parking: There is a parking lot and plenty of street parking. You might have to walk down the street but hey, you’re looking for an outdoor group right? :D How to find the group: We have courts 1 and 2. We should have some HTXoutdoors and Bayou City Outdoors items on the tables. About the group you’re meeting: Because this event is open to everyone, we get a lot of people who are coming out for the first time! That means not everyone knows each other yet so you don’t have to worry about crashing a group of people who have been friends for years. So if everyone is chatting up a storm when you get there, it’s just because they have quickly realized they have a lot in common. And even when some of the people know each other, they are still there to meet more people with similar interests. Dog & Kid Friendly: Dog-Friendly for friendly dogs. The dog must be on a leash… UNLESS… you let them loose in the dog park attached to the patio! Come out and meet others interested in hiking, biking, camping, kayaking, rock climbing, and more! It’s a good chance to meet each other. It’s an even better chance to plan some adventures. 11. Rock Out Weekend Info Meeting August 16, 2022 - 7pm - 8:30pm Online What is Rock Out Weekend (ROW)? outdoor retreat. nights under the stars. reunion. new friends. local vibe. family dinners. sunsets. bonfires. swimming. sup. kayaking. hiking. blind wine tasting contest. dancing and music. weekend getaway for adults. Here's a quick overview of what the fuss is all about. The name comes from originally renting a house to do a bike ride to Enchanted Rock (the rock) and back. But, we got to the house and no one really wanted to ride that hard, so it was more of a "hey let's just chill and enjoy the Hill Country"........ Every year more people came and we had to find a bigger house until we settled on a yearly event with a little bit of everything! During this information meeting, we’ll discuss: - Activities throughout the weekend - I’ll go through several options and we can start deciding what to put on the calendar. - Food - Accommodations This is a zoom meeting so you meet others already signed up and talk about what you want to do at Rock Out Weekend. RSVP at https://htxoutdoors.com/events/rock-out-weekend-info-meeting-2/ for additional info e-mail to info@htxoutdoors.com
