  1. Ace has been out of business for a few months now. Just another empty building near the Spring-Cypress & Champions Forest intersection.
  2. The church has gone up suprisingly fast compared to other construction in the area. Those mormons really know how to get stuff done! The small construction on Champions Forest dr near the entrance of Gleannloch has gone up one stone per day for the past 2 months. This A-frame church had a roof within a week.
  3. I too live in the section near Frank. I honestly can't imagine anyone being dumb enough to actually build apartments on that land anytime soon. I lived in an apartment for 8 years before buying my first house (in Gleannloch) and my preference was always convenience. Anyone living near Frank knows that it takes at least 5 minutes just to get out of the neighborhood, there's nothing convenient about that. (I happen to like the seclusion) The nearest apartment complex I can think of is on Spring-Cypress just east of Stuebner. It just seems to me that most apt. dwellers are looking for proximity to bus-routes and major thoroughfares. (GP doesn't apply because it will be tolled) But what do I know, there is already so much abandoned development bordering the neighborhood that half-finished apt. buildings wouldn't surprise me.
  4. How do you know it's an LDS church going in? I live nearby and haven't seen a sign or anything.
  5. Actually, it is windy year round. I guess that's what happens when you chop down a forest.
  6. my wife and I are wondering the same thing about the new construction. Whatever it is, it's in a strange location. Previously there was a nice clean entrance to the neigborhood. (minus the concrete cemetary)
  7. 47 acres seems pretty small compared to the other communities in the area.
  8. This section was mentioned in the Gleannloch Farms newsletter for October. It is going through the process of becoming part of the neighborhood. I don't know what that entails. If you go to the gleannloch farms website and check out the community map you will see that it was not part of the original plot of land. The rest of the neighborhood has the golf course to buffer it from commercial property and townhomes, while this section is essentially right on Spring Cypress. Further evidence of it not being a part of the "Master Planned Community." Don't expect a true Gleannloch experience from this section. I live in the back near the baseball fields and although it takes a few minutes to make it to Spring Cypress, the buffer is worth it.
  9. Gleannloch Farms (Spring) to N Beltway by IAH, via 249 45 min @ 6:45am - Includes 5 to 7 min extra for carpool meetup. 30 min @ 4:00pm I wish I could live near my work, but Gunspoint mall and 747 fly-overs aren't my thing.
  10. I moved to Gleannloch about 6 months ago and enjoy jogging and cycling regularly, which the neighborhood is great for. However, its always so windy! My runs are always fast in one direction and painfully slow in the other while I'm battling hurricane winds! I recently removed the screens from my back windows to reduce the howling sound the wind was making. Is it like this year round? At least the wind cools me down...
