I think this type of development would be great for entertaining super bowl guests. The Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys are working on financing some sort of town centre with entertainment and shopping around the perimeter of the new Cowboys stadium, Ameriquest Field, and Six Flags.

Wow, I've stayed at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine for my wedding anniversary, and that rendering of the Astrodome looks astonishingly similar to the Gaylord's atrium. I hope they can make it happen.

Alot of other genres musicians don't come from, hang out, or dwell in the places hip hop artists do. Honestly, alot of these guys will and do get robbed in their own neighborhoods. I don't condone their actions, but I certainly understand what's going on. I personally think that problem with some of these guys is that even though their wealth has changed, their surroundings and associates have not.

The Galleria Mall At 5085 Westheimer Rd.

^^LOL, When I read that, I was like WHAT?!? -
LOL, yeah they are moving dirt, but I hardly think that a waterpark 50 miles away will sway the voters, esp in Feb. I'll try and post some pics in the Galveston subforum. Does Houston have any big plans to put on the table for 2009? More downtown retail would be sweet!

Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier At 2501 Seawall Blvd.
J.A.S.O.N. replied to tw2ntyse7en's topic in Sports and Stadia
I read the article and the first thing that I thought was casinos on the island. I don't know, but a theme park would be nice. What ever it is, I hope Galveston benefits, because it sure could use continued development.- 73 replies

Well, I would like to believe Galveston would reach 100,000, but a lot of replys lately on the board are like "I wouldn't ever consider living on the island". How does Galveston grow in population when more than just infrastructure problems are frowned upon by potential residents?

The new causeway is already going up! It looks like its going to be taller than the existing one.

Yes, the University of Texas Medical Branch campus, and the American National Insurance Company building in the background.

^^^Very true.

Does anyone foresee ole Galveston reaching 100,000 year round residents in the next 20 years, if not then why?
