  1. Is that old Astroworld site feasible?

I never actually thought of that. A stadium could easily fit in that site, with a rail station next to it, should be easy to get there if you do not park in the Reliant Stadium parking lot. Also, the walkway could be covered. There might even be some room left over for some urban shops along Fannin.

  2. ^Depends on where they live. If they live out in Baytown, or more Northeast/East Houston, then they will have a shorter commute. The West/Northwest/Southwest Houston would have a shorter commute going to Uptown.

The Pavilions would be great with:

    HOB

    ESPN Zone

    Virgin Megastore

    Niketown

and stuff not around Houston, or this region of Texas (much like you said NewMND).

  3. Isn't it the "American Dream" to make money, and live a lavish lifestyle ? So a few developers make a community GROW and make a few dollars in the process. Why is that sooooo wrong? Is it because YOU didn't think of it first, and now you are gonna misout ? The People of Katy need places closer to home to spend THEIR hard earned dollars in a nice Galleria like setting, instead of having to drive 40 miles and sit in traffic to do so. I would say that it would improve their "Quality of Life" greatly if they didn't have to spend the better part of 2 hours in a car traveling back and forth for retail goods they can get right around the corner. How many people do you know working at the "GAP" live in $200k homes ? The doctors and nurses that are about to move into the two new hospitals on I-10 are the ones that will be living in those, and I am sure that after a 18 hour shift they aren't gonna want to have to trudge down to 610 and Westhiemer to enjoy a good meal, or treat themselves to a new Prada bag, they can drive 5 minutes and get it at La Centerra.

Talk about selfish, "build by me, build by me ! I want to be more urban !" What makes you so special ? Did you even click on the link for La Centerra ? Gonna be a little more than just a CVS there Chief ! What do you propose, 40 story highrises with starbucks and a Barnes & Noble at street level ? Hopefully you won't have to be burdened with venturing out this way to ever see it, so what do you care ? This is for the city of KATY, not the city of HOUSTON. Do yourself a favor and change your name to NeedaClue. I assure you this is not "sprawl" this upscale shopping center is needed for quite a few who live out here who are tired of going to Target for shopping and NAWLINS for dinner. -_-

    Thank you ^_^

The year 1836 has always held place of special meaning in Houston, as it was the year of the city's founding and the year Texas became an independent republic. The number took on added meaning Wednesday afternoon, as it officially became the name of the Houston club in Major League Soccer.

I actually like the name now. At first it did not sound that great, but it has a good ring to it. The colors and logo for this team are pretty decent.

  5. I agree, I think there are many things Downtown could learn from the burbs considering theres a big portion of Houston's population that live in the burbs. I also think the park is a good idea because any green space that can bring quality to life in an urban setting is a good thing. The garage I also think is a good idea because it took one ugly surface lot and turned it into a park, and took away no parking spots. I just think its neat a park over a parking garage. It dose sound almost like putting a freeway under a park. Could That Happen?

Yeah, a freeway under a park can happen. If you have ever been to Washington D.C., the fountain in front of the Capitol Building has a freeway running through it.

This parking garage/park is a good idea. No parking spaces lost, and it would be needed in the future. Should create an urban-style enviroment.

  6. UT DOES have a powerful roster, huh. I gotta disagree with you and nmainguy on Carr. Carr's a good player, with good skill. They even said in the Chronicle that when he called the plays this season, the team gained more yards and were more successful than when the coaching staff made the plays. Carr's turned out to become the ONLY star on the team. He's got potential, but only if he gets better plays and/or better talent around him.

Bush would be a great pick up, but for the TEAM to get better, we need better linemen, a leader on defense, and maybe a new reciever. Kinda curious...if we were locked to pick up Bush, wouldn't the Texans just trade Davis for two more 1st round picks, and pick up linemen? Then after that, trade our current starter linemen for a star on defense?

Ehh, Andre Johnson and Domanick Davis are there with Carr, too. Andre is one of the best WR out there.
