JW Marriott At 806 Main St. & Expansion Into Battlestein’s - 812 Main St.

Interesting. -
The Budweiser Clydesdales just rolled into town (for the opening game, I guess). They've got some fancy trailers.

It was truly an amazing site to watch. The largest fire I've ever seen was a grain silo that was located on the northeast corner of Montrose and Allen Pkwy, diagonally across from the Magnolia Cemetery. The flames from that fire were probably as high as the AIG tower is tall.

They've been painting the trim on this building. Maybe a black baby grand piano store - that's all I saw. I'll try to get a better look today.

This is going to look so much than it did in stage 2 of its life. -
The vacant retail/restaurant space is full of pianos today. My best guess is that they are being stored there while the Alley Theater is being renovated.

Cardet's was the first time I ever tasted Cuban food. Needless to say, it was very good.

I think you mean Milam, not Main. One lane of traffic is closed on the Travis side.

They put new cooling units on the roof a few months ago. -
There's still a Success Rise silo on the west end.
-
That silo burned in the 80's - biggest fire I've ever seen in my life.

Right. Isn't that why they're replacing the bridge on San Felipe?
-
Because they're tacky and would take away from the architectural signifcance of many buildings. Ah, remember the rotating Gulf sign atop their building? That one was cool. Hotels can still have signage downtown.

The undeveloped land was to be a Fire Museum, but it fell through. An apt. development was announced for that land recently.

Remember the days when Nabisco was on Almeda and Maxwell House roasted coffee on the east end? Both were great sniffing smells.

Stewart Cadillac is in Midtown and they just remodeled their building.

There are renderings on here somewhere. Try searching Skanska.

The 3600 block already has businesses. Are they going away? The 3400 & 3500 blocks are both parking lots.
