I can't WAIT for them to start by removing the billboard infested corridor 🤩
It's mainly just billboards on the westside of freeway that's where most of the land is being taken north of 610.

So now that I've had sometime to go over what was released... People against this project have to realize that it appears nothing has changed whatsoever to what TXDOT has previously agreed to far before this "compromise" was declared? Some of this text is word for word what I saw at the TXDOT workshops in Midtown and in Northside years ago. I can't seem to find any new schematics but this appears to be a joke and if this was going to go forward like this, then there should have never been this delay. It's all theatrics.
Yep they pretty much just waisted time! Specifically the county. But at least the people who are having to relocate are getting more money now.

Something to keep an
Something to keep an eye on. Crane has said in the past that they could add an electronic out of town scoreboard. It could happen in this deal.
I hope not I like the old school look.

Is it fair to characterize Whitmire as the traditional "consensus" candidate for 2023 and Hollins as more aligned with the Hidalgo/more "progressive" style of politics, sort of like Boykins and Lovell represented more "liberal" choices in the 2019 general election?
I didn't realize Amanda Edwards launched her campaign back in March, and I assume she'd be in the latter bucket, too:
Thumbs down on Whitmire and Hollins the Edwards lady seems cool 😁

Yeah I'll stick with just going to Bisou here and there. 😐

Not going to happen but at this point I wish the Regent Square team would just approach Hanover and make some sort of business deal where Hanover develops the parcel fronting Allen parkway or just outright sells it to them.
Anything is possible!

I went by this and saw a worker coming out of the fenced area where the 42 story apartments will be. I asked him a few questions about it but he pointed out another worker who would know more, he said this will start in two weeks, confirmed the 42 story and TAS being the concrete contractor. He also said the mid rise office building next to it will start soon.
That's good to hear! Now it's time for Regent Square to get going!

I go crazy when I have to park on the 5th floor of my apartment garage. If I had to park on the top of this thing I'd absolutely lose it.
The ion one too! .

UT started the war. Now we are going to encircle Austin and defeat it. If the legislature won't let us into the permanent fund then we'll have to explore other options.
Riverwalk lights are the best.
I can see it now UH-Dallas UH-Austin 😁

This 1947 photograph of Holcombe & Main is pretty cool. You can see the foundation for the Shamrock Hotel and parking garage. I wonder what the building is on the lower left. Looks like a dance hall? I also see a residential development closer to the point of the intersection A service station on the corner.
Is that Harris Gully?
Damn I never knew this hotel was built with a garage.

Heck yeah for sure! A buddy from Miami came to visit and he said the same thing. He was like "Man you guys really pack it in here." And when he said that I guess I just didn't realize how dense we actually are.
We just need a little more organization and we'll be good!

I am not familiar with Austin. Is Rainey St considered downtown Austin or outside kinda what Midtown is to Houston?

I hope so. Makes so much more sense to have GFR frontage on the pedestrian-friendly side than the highway-lite sides. Montrose Collective definitely got that part right.
I do know they plan to have gfr on Eagle as well.

The tower crane operator who works for TAS just messaged me on IG saying his bosses just told him they are moving him to a Hanover high rise project to build a 42 story high rise here in Houston. He is currently operating the tower crane at the Marquette Companies White Oak apartments. He was told he would transfer over to his new job around Jan-March. He was also the operator at the Allen project on the taller crane and the tower crane operator at the Hanover River Oaks. Only building that qualifies in that height range is the one at Hanover Autry Park.
Nice! I can't wait for that tower to be built it's gonna have one hell of a presence on Allen Parkway and Memorial!

I don't know. It seems whatever redevelopment plans may have been on the drawing board are on hold.
As you may recall, local restaurant group Eighty Six'd opened three concepts in Post Oak Shopping Center this year: Sushi on Post Oak, event center Toque, and Irish pub Ducky McShweeney's.- 4

It was sold to Hi Tech Auto Realty in February 2022. That entity is managed by Ricardo M Weitz, who seems to have been associated with Momentum. In March 2022, there is a deed of trust to Cadence Bank and a trustee Charles J Pignuolo with a $192 million mortgage and a 20 page list of properties that includes Baytown Nissan, Central Houston Nissan, the Kirby Mansion, David McDavid Nissan, as well as properties in Williamson and Travis counties I can't be bothered to go look for.
It's all on the County Clerk's website.
I forgot to mention that I believe Mr.Weitz already owns the central dealerships so I guess it went from one hand to the other.
