In a word.... no.
I'm a STH in the supporter section and attendance last season was spectacularly bad. BUT, we have a new owner and they just made the highest $$$ transfer they've ever done. New coach, new GM, and a lot to be excited about.
If anyone wants to check out a game for cheap, they are doing three "713 nights" where you can get $7 tickets, $1 hot dogs and $3 beers.
They will be on March 19, July 3, and August 13.
That's pretty cool. What's crazy is how the team in Atlanta is packing out Mercedes Benz Stadium!

Are the Dynamo doing well attendance wise?

Ciel, the restaurant and lounge coming to 4411 San Felipe, posted an Instagram story and updated its IG bio yesterday. Both the stories and bio provide more insight into what kind of concept this is going to be.
From their Instagram story:
"We're inspired by the festive restaurants and lounges more commonly found in Western Europe. Boasting energetic vibes with live music in the evenings."
"At Ciel, you'll soon be able to indulge in our sophisticated menu featuring modern Japanese and French cuisine complemented by craft cocktails with curated champagne and wine selections."
So, it sounds like Ciel will be to 4411 San Felipe as Bisou is to River Oaks District.
I swear I was thinking the same thing as I was reading this!

I cannot overstate how much I hate this idea. Yes, build high-rises all over downtown. I love them. But this is a once-in-a-century chance to reclaim a huge swath of green space walkable from downtown. Think Millennium Park in Chicago.

I like the idea of having it split up between development and plazas / parkland.

One of the drone pilots that posts on here said he can't fly here due to software restrictions built into the drone. Is this correct info @cityliving @brijonmang?

Just rent a helicopter 🥱

I remember this article. When he mentions the stadiums exterior do you think he's possibly thinking of redoing the outside of the ballpark as well?

There's a lot of money in this city the park will be built!!!

I think they're designing the cap to have highrises built on top as well.

Love this development but am I the only one that finds it odd that the second office tower gets a better location than the hotel/residential tower? Seems like you'd lure more folks to rent/stay if there were views of Discovery Green and not the electrical substation to the East and surface lots to the South. Also, for large conventions, people at the hotels quickest route would take them by the substation rather than the edge of the park and by tower one's amenities.
Probably because there is more room to work with in the two full blocks.

In another 10 years that median will be an absolutely impenetrable thicket. Looks like everything was planted about twice as dense as I would have expected, not bad, just unnaturally dense for a landscaped space.
Are there still plans to build the direct connectors from Will Clayton to 59?

One Market Square is still, technically, proposed, just looking for a major tenant. I think Hines is handling that one, so with Texas Tower done, that's probably their next major project.
6 Houston Center is still proposed, as of now.
That 50 story Chevron Tower is still technically proposed, but its been on the backburner for years. If Chevron ever finally moves out of California, maybe it will happen.
And finally there's the W Hotel proposed to be built above the Partnership Tower.
I also think there may be a proposal to redevelop the Bayou Music Center, including multiple towers, but don't know how far along that actually is.
One Market Square is gonna block the of Texas Tower once it's built 🙄

Does anyone have any idea on what type of retail would go in the retail spots?

Very cool. Makes it look like they've acquired/are planning to acquire the piece they didn't own of the southernmost block.
Across from the main Toyota Center entrance?

It's (practically) only just begun. Main lanes of 610 still need to be reelevated and realigned...It'll be the best part.
Yeah I know I wonder how many lanes they're going to take 610 down to? 🤦🏽♂️

No the hilarious thing is in the comments on the twitter post the first person called this a "beautiful design"....without any sarcasm.
A lot of people in the real world aren't as critical of architecture as we are on here. Lol I was driving with a friend that was visiting from Atlanta last year and we were on Memorial Dr and she commented that the Windsor highrise apartments were cool looking. I was thinking to myself that's one of the ugliest buildings in Houston 😂
Also had a friend a few years back that said something similar about the Bristol condos in the Galleria area she was visiting from New Jersey. Lol

All these new high-rise apartments and offices going up all over the city in different neighborhoods I always wonder will there be enough demand to keep building more.

Yeah the presentation dates are off because Hurricane Harvey paused so much but this one is officially kicking off January 2022. To see so much connected walkability is a rare sight in Houston. I walked from Westheimer and Shepherd to Eastside St the other day and what a great walk. It’s amazing how much good infrastructure elevates the architecture of your city and overall aesthetic.
I know they're are plans to redo Lower Westheimer but what about Westheimer in the Highland Village River Oaks District area?

I know this is counterintuitive, given the whole point of going public is to raise money, but it's strange this happened today and the supposed leak to Forbes was a banker.
Yeah I saw this this morning on Clutchfans.
