Or not.
Doubters.
Reverse jinx. Suckas! Ravens are beatable.

Sort of fitting that the historically loser Bengals will probably knock the historically loser Texans out of the playoffs.

Not sure why I don't have a reply option to post #2. 20thStDad, BB's is already two blocks away.
Cabo had a water line break in the sidewalk last week, so I assumed they were closed because they had no water - guess not.
On a positive note, Georgia's, on the other corner of that block is stocking their shelves. It looks like they'll open soon.
I should go downtown more! I knew about one on Montrose and White Oak, not that one. At least it proves I am already right.

They need to put a BB's there. Good food and fun.

It's a poll. New votes bump it.

You jinxed it! There is a thread every year, and every year has ended in disappointment. So far so good, but we can expect downhill from here on out.

The fact that Lupe Tortilla is ditching the sandbox is probably a better sign of the times.
I have kids, and I hated that damn sandbox. Why the hell would I want my kid to get all sandy, ever, especially when going somewhere? I hate going out to eat when kids are rowdy everywhere. We take ours out sometimes, and sometimes they are good. When they aren't, I can't get out of there fast enough. That's only partially because of the impact to others, most of it is that I don't want to deal with it. Baby-sitters are awesome. Tomorrow night will reaffirm that.

The Astros are pointless, now even more so. They have been dead to me since beer prices went above $6.

This thread has risen from the dead to become my favorite again.

Best hummus in the hood?
Best non-fancy Indian near here (chicken tikka, curry)?

Are we the apartment capital of the world yet? boring.

Renovate the roster. The stadium is fine. Well, they need lower concession prices, but everything else is fine.

I've done the ropes and pulleys before, it's not that hard. The pulleys and counterweights are probably still in there, you just need to open them up and cut new ropes/cables. Hopefully. When we did a bunch of windows on a 1920 fraternity house, we didn't need to cut any new wood, we were able to pry them open and then nail them back in place without damaging.

Did anyone ever shop there? I was never even tempted to. Seemed like a relic.

What kind of bad smell are we talking about? Bad cheese? Smells like feet? Didn't want garlic? I've only been to Frank's twice but it was good both times. Need to try Luigi's.

Papa Geno's on Ella at W 18th is awesome if you like a good cheesesteak. Good size, good price, nice people. I'm not a spokesman for authenticity, but theirs are just way better than anything Jake's or Texadelphia (not too hard to beat them) has.

Pretty good. Not the best I've had though. I had the hubcap decker, not a big fan of the piece of bread in the middle. If it was juicy, the bread took that away. I'll try something different next time. Size and prices are decent. They do have a small room with a/c on the left side, which is key for times like August.

I can't help but think that life and america will never feel like that again. Growing, so many new things every year, cultural changes, and people with a real positive outlook that they can make things better for themselves. Today just feels so cynical. Or maybe it's just me.

Chicago Pizza (deep dish) barely > Frank's >> Collina's >>> NY Pizzeria. Star I never really liked much, I think people just like places that feel quirky.

You know, I struggle to understand America's obsession with beige buildings. Go out to the suburbs and there are entire communities of beige houses. Has there ever been an era in architectural design so dominated by one color? I am convinced that when architectural historians look back on our time they will label it 'The Age of Beige'.
Here it's hardly noticeable. I just got back from Jordan, where every building actually is the same color - beige. I tried to find some beauty or even interest in it, but by the time I left I decided it was just completely depressing.

This is the most frustrating thread ever.

I prefer self checkout. I am faster than they are, and I am infinitely better at bagging properly. I was at an Albertson's in Baton Rouge last week, and the self checkouts were gone. I was annoyed. Stop trying to make me interact with other people, I don't want to.

Holy cow they are still messing around with this one. I won't believe it's happening until I see it. 7 years and nothing but some grass.
