seeing that i live one block from Post Oak and work 2 blocks from Post Oak, I am looking forward to all of these projects...(and hopefully those bus lanes on Post Oak change to light rail as some suspect the plan will be by 2020...)

i dont know why am so excited about all this convention center news...maybe because i always thought this building was such an eyesore...so its just so cool to see that its becoming something better than it was. thanks for all the awesome updates and photos!!!

haha true i guess! i just want to see it finished because it looks like its going to be awesome!
-
is it me or is this project super slow moving?

the bottom/west facing floor is being redone and will feature restaurants with patios and entertainment but not sure about the rest of the building...i would hope they do a little refreshing at least but haven't heard much about the inside of GRB
-
wow!!! it really is!!! i would have never thought i would be excited to see photographs of the GRB or even go inside but this is really looking amazing and cannot wait to have all the new restaurant and entertainment options. i already love discovery green and The Grove, so this is just making me like this area even more! thanks for posting that cool photo!

I have been saying forever that ALL the Galleria (including Dillards) would benefit from a good power-washing!

rumor has it they are re-branding that location La Quinta*Plus in celebration with their partnership with Dollar Tree to become more upscale featuring in-room complimentary snacks such as Races Peanutbutter Patties, Snackers, Butterthumbs, and more... (*note, there will a small sign inside the closet taped on the bottom of the paperboard shelf, that advises to check the expiration date of all in-room snacks but also advises that most brands usually have a shelf life of 2 to 3 years beyond what is printed on the wrapper although discoloration of all chocolate flavored products is to be expected and that La Quinta*Plus should not be held responsible for sickness or injury or bodily harm...or worse...) I also heard them mention something about installing jets in the pool to turn it into a hot tub after 10...(adults only of course).

I have been saying that since day 1...they did it backwards....they should have had the restaurants first to get people to visit the development and bring people to the stores, because as it is now, the place is for the most part, a ghost town no matter the time of day or day of the week (and i know because i DO frequent iPic..)
so yeah...i cannot wait to have some great restaurant choices and to have this place feel really ALIVE!
(also the opening of the Grey House will help i am sure!)

Yep, amazing Brijonmang!!!!!!!!!!!!! and stop coming to my part of town without letting me know! its been too long!

to me its not that it is ESPECIALLY unattractive, but compared to the current grand facade which i loved, it definitely falls short...(and honestly anything with changing colored lights feels cheap to me...ambient white or at least one color of lighting looks more sophisticated and upscale in my opinion)

Who kicks people when they are down in life? Homeless people have every legal right to be and go anywhere as anyone else.
In fact, I prefer homeless people over santimonious narcissists who move into the city with their suburban mentalities of exclusion. Speakin of taking and never giving anything back...these types of sentiments are worse than homeless people. A moral homelessness, if you will.
Make sure to hate and aschew the homeless at church this weekend.
so many things bother me about this crazy statement...as no one is saying that homeless people cant go anywhere they want, but they shouldnt be able to pee, poo, sleep, loiter where us with nice apartments cant (there is a ton of great resources out there for homeless people and when able or when they are receptive i actually take the time to say hi and tell them about them when the opportunity presents itself...i hate that we take care of other countries before we take care of our own and homelessness truly makes me sad, as i cannot image just how horrible that is and dont want to)

wow, this is going to be open before we know it!:
"The two-story, 210,000-square-foot store, currently under construction, will officially open on April 28!"
-
so this is where the mattress and rug store is right? (old Verizon/Dessert gallery)
yahOoOOooOoOoOOOooOOOOOooo when do they start destroying this building?!?!

so that ugly nondescript 3 story building in the photos is for retail?! it looks like it should be some kind of storage space or something...kooky! i have wondered forever why it was built and what it was for (and better yet, why its been sitting there for so long being unused or worked on etc...) it doesn't fit in with ROD or Highland Village...cant wait to see what moves in there...should be interesting as from the looks of it, its more suited for studios and office space etc...not retail.

i have to say between the facade and the lobby, i love that this guy had the courage and the heart to have visually impaired children give their input in the planning, design and decorating of this project...
