  1. I am not sure how... His crappy aquarium and restaurant is practically across the street from Post!
  2. hey, has anyone been to the theater lately to see if any remodel work has been started on the theaters or lobby yet?
  3. It is really coming along...so good to see that the building is really happening and getting close to completion...my guess is a summer to early fall opening? now can we get some cool businesses to fill up the empty Ra end of the plaza and get a good restaurant where PF Chang's use to be. THEN lets talk about elevating the train tracks 🙃
  4. maybe this would be a good location for Common Bond as i have had conversations with the owner a few times who hopes to bring one to the galleria/uptown area soon.
  5. the funny part is that it WAS a cool fun place to go, but the food and service were subpar so i never really went after the initial opening period... it is a cool venue so maybe something else worthy will come along.
  6. I look back to that time and realize how lucky we were to live in Houston then...truly loved Houston and that area. It's a HUGE part of my childhood to adulthood.... really miss those days for sure!
  7. obviously i need to venture out on my own damn street more haha i tend to stay on the north part of McCue
  8. nope! crazy as i have lived on mccue for 27 years albeit the "other side" at 2400 Mccue and surrounding buildings...
  9. it already happened as you probably know when the Alabama Theater on Shepherd became The Alabama Bookstop then Trader Joes. I miss The Bookstop!!!!!!!!!!
  10. I love Post HTX and the location... i tend to go once a week or so...in fact i am taking my buddy that is visiting from New Zealand tonight upon his arrival to get some food! (and will be there saturday for coffee and cars). I definitely think there is room (and a need) for this new project! and yeah i had never heard of Ace Hotels but wowsa totally looks up my alley for cool hotels that i like to stay in!
  11. you are right about that! I always LOVED Lil Bigs at the now Burger Joint location...it was always packed!!! them moving was the worst decision they ever made! may they r.i.p.
  12. i always thought that was so weird that they designed the new sign to be smaller than the old one so you could still see remnants of Present Company. this place was amazing as Royal Oak and should have stayed Royal Oak dangit!
  13. Hi it wont let me edit my post so just here to say Blue October has added a second show!!! March 1st AND 2nd! :)
  14. agreed....Nando's did an especially great job in creating a fun and standout design...really brings this plaza to life as i think i mentioned in my review...also, i mentioned their amazing Roasted Brussels Sprouts drizzled with PERi Ranch!!! OMG 🤤 also one note...regarding the huge space between Kenny & Ziggy's and Balboa Surf Club, while the facade of Arhaus is only like 70 percent finished, all the signage is up...which makes me ask...what in the heck is going into their old location!? please make it something useful...in fact i wish they would bring back Barnes & Noble there...
  15. THANK GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is a huge eyesore now!!! thank you for the update @hindesky !
  16. Yes i will say that Uptown Houston has the best lights and Christmas decor in general! Love our part of town this time of year!
  17. haha well come on now...what does that even mean? ;) but really how dare you brag about having a ford focus ;)
  18. IF they can make a couple of medians in that lot with trees (or something) it will at least look a little better...i am just hoping it isn't just a giant surface lot...
  19. feel the same! I do feel like the white and curved Kenny & Ziggys portion is out of place and doesn't match the rest of the plaza's aesthetic...but do like it...i am hoping they still do what they said earlier about matching the uptown park area's vibe...was hoping for more "hangout areas" to take away from the giant parking lot feel at this plaza.
  20. whoa!!! finally SOMETHING is happening... but still sad it closed darnit...that was the best location in my opinion (for CFA)
  21. another reason was that the food just wasn't great and the service i had multiple times was horrible...even when sitting at the bar. bye and hope something really good takes over this awesome location!
  22. Yeah man, i LOVE the Regal (Edwards) theater at Marqe. It is completely redone and wowsa...what a great movie going experience... I have had the Regal Unlimited card since it's inception (2019) and go to the movies almost every week (even during the pandemic!)...anyway, the manager of the Marqe location said that yes, indeed, the Weslayan location would pretty much undergo the same renovations which is exciting...living across from the galleria puts me smack between both locations so i can just choose the best time of the film that works for me. But again, go check out the Marqe location if you get a chance...it really is a first class theater experience now. thanks @hindesky for all the awesome updates!
  23. Hey all! Hope it is okay to once again announce my best friend Justin and his band Blue October (including my other best friend Matt, the bassist :) ) are coming back to 713 Music Hall at POST HTX! For now it is being announced as a standard 7-10pm show... however there were rumors they were trying to make it another Houston's Music & Arts Festival / Blue Backs The Blue. Justin had hand picked the bands, the tattoo artist(s), barbers, food trucks and more all to support The Houston Police Officers Union "Assist The Officer"! The first one took place at White Oak Music Hall in 2019 where they took over the entire venue inside and out and was a huge sold out success! Due to covid the festival that was meant to be annual went on hiatus due to covid unfortunately...so we shall see if they can bring that back at this or another venue...and soon! Anyway, Tickets go on presale this Friday 12/1/23! See ya there!!! Blue October's Website/ Link to tickets here Event: MARCH 2nd 2024 at 713 Music Hall - Hometown Houston Show!
  24. now that this whole development has just been freshly painted, can we finally get something good located here? https://www.crexi.com/lease/properties/400077/texas-5002-5026-westheimer-rd
