If you go on the plat tracker, and click on the latest submission, its showing a "C2" application type which I believe is for multi family apts: APP NO. 2023-1889 REVIEW CYCLE 2023-21 APP. TYPE C2 Lot Count 0 Reserve Count 1 Reserve Size 4.56 Where as before, it had a lot count of 77 and a C3F app type: APP NO. 2022-2639 REVIEW CYCLE 2022-24 APP. TYPE C3F Lot Count 77 Reserve Count 12 Reserve Size 0.06 This is an example of the apts down the street on Ella and 11th that are being planned: APP NO. 2022-2947 REVIEW CYCLE 2022-25 APP. TYPE C2 Lot Count 0 Reserve Count 1 Reserve Size 3.01 I hope I am wrong as I much rather see the townhomes going in but I think the developer changed course.

So let me make sure I am understanding this correctly... the community gets in an uproar over $500K townhomes coming to the area (eye roll). They call on council members, newspapers, tv stations, etc. For years Frank Liu has been trying to build homes on this parcel. So then he says ok, bet. Time to call you all on your bluff. I am just going to put a big apt complex in there instead out of spite!! A CLASSIC be careful what you wish for....

Ok, I have toured these lofts and they are absolutely phenomenal. I would absolutely love to live there. HOWEVER whoever is running the numbers on this thing needs to get fired! At first they had opened it to graduate students only, shortly after they added the "Professional Students" students in PPA, PES, etc. Then they opened it up to upperclass men (Juniors and Seniors) and NOW they just opened it up to sophmores! This is why: $810 for an efficency. (The living room doubles as your bedroom) $1090 for a ONE bedroom. (It's $545 if you share with a roomate, the rooms are really small) $1620 for a TWO bedroom. *All rooms requre a one year agreement* At these prices they are never going to get this thing filled You can tell that they are not filling these up as fast (if any) as they would like because they keep opening it up to more and more students, I would not be surprised if freshmans would be allwoed to live there next. I know of a lot of students who want to live on camus and we finally found something that was right next to out classes and "safe" HOWEVER they are pricing out students left and right. We minus well go get a house and rent out all the rooms.

This is what the Chancellor and President of UH sent out to all the students and faculty through email: Dear Colleagues and Friends, I want to share some very, very good news with you today. After all of our hard work in letter writing, testifying, visiting legislators in Austin, and earning community support, we can declare victory in our efforts to secure a pathway for the University of Houston to attain Tier One status. Late last night, the Texas Legislature passed two historic bills - the Constitutional amendment that creates the fund needed to finance top-tier research by UH and all the state's emerging research universities, and the enabling legislation that provides a pathway to access those funds. The enabling legislation still awaits the Governor's signature before it becomes law. The Constitutional amendment will be put to a state-wide vote in November 2009, and we plan to engage the support of our alumni, our community leaders, and the UH System family in a drive to educate voters on what additional Tier One universities will mean in terms of economic growth for Texas. We are hopeful voters will pass the amendment. My admiration and gratitude go to members of our UH System Board of Regents, most notably Chairman Welcome W. Wilson, Sr., and Regent Nelda Luce Blair, who devoted many hundreds of hours of their own time to be in Austin at crucial times during the session. I also want to congratulate our legislative team in Austin - Vice Chancellor for Governmental Relations Grover Campbell and Assistant Vice Chancellor Laura Calfee - for their steadfast commitment, brilliant leadership, and considerable talents in presenting our case before our legislators. And I especially want to thank our legislative delegation. They stood strongly with us and provided invaluable leadership and support that made passage of these two key bills possible. Building upon this constitutional and legislative foundation, the University of Houston will be in the strongest position ever to complete our Tier One journey. I want to thank all of you who wrote our legislators, or called them, or helped in any way. I am proud of you and your efforts. This is absolutely not the truth. I am a student at UH and we are ALL waiting for this to go through, we were ecstatic when we heard UHD was finally changing its name! We are tired of people confusing our university with UHD, it happens more times than not. "What school do you go to?" I go to UH. "Oh the one downtown?" No, I go to central campus. "Wait there's two?" And the explaining begins.........

So i decided to check this place out, I have to agree the burgers there are fantastic, extremely better than Whataburger, Mcdonalds, etc... However they do fall a bit short of In-n-Out. The fries there are not like In-N-Out, It seems that here they add more seasonings. All In all it was pretty good, will definitely go back, but like another poster said "It's nothing to go home and tell the world about". IMO :-) Oh by the way paid $8.04 for their junior cheeseburger, small drink, and small fries.

University of South East Texas and lets end this once in for all!

Well since you owed money you probably had a "Hold" on your account. Its like saying, I went to UT and transferred to A&M but forgot to pay a certain fee while at UT, when you apply to A&M and you send in all your official transcripts and all that 'Hold" is going to remain on your Official transcripts regardless of where you go, thus appearing when you registered at UH-Main.

sensing a little anger here....... Face it the UHD kids are mad that they are changing the name because somehow they think that since it has the "University of Houston" part in it, they somehow belong to UH, their degree is worth a little bit more. Sorry to tell you but you are NOT UH. UH will elevate to Tier 1 while you will always be "that" univeristy, they should change the name IMMEDIATLY! Lets stop being nice and say, "No UHD is not changing their name to disaccoiate themselves from UH because we give UH a bad connotation, we are doing it to stop the confusion", no your not, I am sure the powers to be at UH are applying A LOT of pressure for UHD to change thier name!

Well lets see, they NEED to change the name because it is confused with the University of Houston, they are trying to elevate themselves to Tier 1 (and i really hope they do!!) a good name would be Houston University Downtown. (HUD) (Not to be confused with the Rural Housing Program lol) or even Southeastern Texas University (STU).
