  1. I used to be able to pay my utility bills at Weingarten's service window. Very convenient. You don't get that kind of service in a grocery store any more.
  2. I have not looked thru every post here, but I recall these w/fondness: Whatsaburger-- home of the 10 cent burgers on Monday nights. Weinershnitzel drive thrus. Good dogs! i used to go to the one on Hillcroft btwn Beechnut and Bellaire Blvd. Christies, the old one on Bellaire Blvd. Broiler Burger in Bellaire. Felix Mexican in Bellaire. Ousie's in the Village. One's a Meal Oh, and what was that "trendy" cafe on Westheimer near the Galleria- Strawberry Patch?
  3. Does anyone recall if there was a Joske's store at Meyerland shopping plaza? I think there was, but the Wikipedia article on Meyerland doesn't list it.
  4. I stumbled upon this posting and it is bringing back good memories. I saw Bruce Springstein, BB King, Kinky Freidman, and many others at Liberty Hall. God, I was so young, and so were they. But the one that stands out, and one that no one else has mentioned, is Taj Mahal. That man's voice could melt anything in his path. I still, after all these years, have a clear image of him alone on stage w/his guitar. He was probably the most unique musician I heard at Liberty Hall.
