  1. wasnt turnberry the builder behind the orion? if so, what makes you think this one will get off the ground? I went to the orion site and they still have the sales office there gathering dust. I think people still work in it because there were a few cars outside and the promo video for the orion was still playing.
  2. yea this thing is dead. the only people who can build high rises in houston and come out on top are either randall davis (manhattan, empire, cosmopolitan, renoir) or giorgio some italian last name (interfin- Montebello, Villa d'este, uptown park, four leaf, etc) who built the huntingdon and who built the houstonian? because those guys most have lost a lot of money.
  3. I heard on another topic on this site. thats why I asked. I didnt know if they were talking about the randalls in town and country or not. but if they put an HEB at i-10 and bunker hill it will greatly hamper randall's market share for that area. hopefully they werent talking about that one. is the one on voss closing down? because the topic spoke of a randalls in the general area of Memorial (77024) to be closing...
  4. this post was closed but never answered. is an HEB goin on the newly cleared lot? the answer in the katy forum was not really an answer rather a question. and is the randalls in town and country village really closing down?
  5. they do clean it up but yea the graffiti on the store front just past st thomas has yet to be cleaned. its been there since 2004. the bum traffic through the area is awesome because of the covenant house down the way on yoakum and hawthorne. st thomas as I have experienced does not really have that much of vagrancy problems because of ust's security force. although, this statuary is at the corner of montrose and alabama hopefully it will remain unscathed.
  6. st thomas usually has problems near Richmond not Alabama. this piece will add another great work to the university's already stellar architecture. what st tommy needs to do is tear down that manufacturing plant/cooling plant or whatever on the corner of graustark and richmond. anyone with me? it could be turned into a great auditorium or gym/tranquil park on the south end of the school
  7. yea thats like all private schools.... either your rich or your chris o'donnel in scent of a woman you have to get past that and look at the academia of the school and the fact that you can use to get into virtually any school in the US (if you made the grades)
  8. hopefully it will be. what schools in katy are private anyway? (besides for the forementioned Catholic high school) is there a catholic elementary or junior high in katy? ...thats something that katy could think about- private schools. Imagine schools even better than KISD
  9. how is low income housing a bad thing? honestly? if not at the area south of westpark, which is not all that nice now, then near mortan ranch. honestly, westheimer lakes and the developments near there are no where near the luxury of seven meadows. they will need to build a ronald mcdonald house too. the new tx childrens (when is that supposed to get started again?) will need accessible housing far closer than around 30 miles. also the new medical center in katy (memorial hermann and christus) will need overnight housing for its guests. a ronald mcdonald house would be a good thing and just think...we get to see barbara bush once a month. you know what katy really needs...not to be in a MUD district. I mean what the hell! other places...more overnight hotel/motel space (if the construction of the med centers warrants it). katy needs for fitness facilities...large ones and smaller ones for those that dont like huge atmosphere (like MAC). ...and house is la madelaine or visible changes upscale? lm is a glorified and exp cafetaria (no if, ands, or buts about it) and visible changes ranks like crap in my book. any place that cuts hair in a mall is low in my book. besides the cinco ranch spa is a better and likely more affordable place to go then visible. what else?
  10. how good was the food at bistro 829?
  11. a pavillion like the cynthia woods. or arent they supposed to build one in that $700 mil development proj in Memorial City? they need more greenery too and some low income housing near westpark. ...what else? restaurants- The Palm or something nice along those lines. because the fanciest restaurant out in katy is probably johnny carino's and thats like saying the olive garden is fancy more landry's restaurants (a more accessible landrys, etc) a town center like facility cant think of anything more right now...
  12. the only people that can build high rise condoes in houston are interfin and randall davis what other ones have ever worked? redstone- no orion- no shamrock- no monaco- no 2727 (address?) kirby- hopefully not but most likely not goin to get built the huntingdon and the houstonian are the only high rises I know of (in this certain price range) that have ever been able to muster any sales
  13. so i dont understand...what is goin in there at ten oaks? a neighborhood community or other development? ...and are they ever goin to build the texas childrens hospital there?
  14. wow...you guys are being really mean, but likely I have never met you so it does not really matter. I would say UH needs something more than greenery. they actually need plants that stay alive and bloom. I can't say anything for the rest of the campus, but near the admissions office (adjacent to Roy G Cullen, I believe) it does not look too good. what is the new center they have which uses a more modern architecture? is it the new biological research lab? that looks amazing. allison did a lot for him in the way of new structures thats for sure (hence the new law center) I would say Rice is first in looks and then UST. all others look nearly the same (never been to cy-fair, but on advertisements it does look mighty fancy) was oh snap ever a gay word? ...and I hope to pursue an MD so inter-office politics is out of the way. though I would like to fetch lunch for some corporate VP who thinks he was in line of the promotion and not the narrow-minded Rice alum. we could converse over how Rice offers a beautiful campus but nothing in the form of a bus degree or student oriented college life (the pub needs to move to St Thomas). so why did the guy the promotion? two words: sexual favors. god, you Rice people are disgusting. when was the last time students actually skinny dipped in the Dean's pool? regretfully, he moved off campus, but you still have yours truly to thank for the streaking of the shell auditorium. -your welcome by the way once again, st thomas = awesome
  15. ut and a&m offer business degrees? I thought they just offered drinking contests. ohhh snap! ...yea that is going to suck, but I'll just show them up with a masters. in your face...world!
  16. well...I'm not in 7th grade but I wish I were (man those were some great times!). you need to lighten up though. I'm sorry you didnt go to st thomas. I know you wish you did, but you didnt. dont take it out on me. gosh! st thomas = awesome
  17. the question was colbert-esque. yes I do attend st thomas (senior). I have been there just before the start of the new construction when the mall used to be an ugly parking lot and mt vernon was a drivable street. now that they have used it as a campus mall and a pedestrian walkway, it looks great. they are also planning to shut down w main and turn it into a pedestrian walkway so that there is less congestion next to the new athletic center. the medical program there is ranked at on of the best in the country (seeing how theres around a 99% acceptance rating from st thomas into medical school) the only thing they need to do is make the school more of an exclusive university and not allow every D student from a private high school into its academia. my opinion...greatest school (1st best in Houston, who the heck cares about those Rice morons)
  18. macy's is moving into the new simon and interfin construction north of I-10 at Grand Parkway. There is a post in on the Katy board concerning Grand Shoppes.
  19. federated is shutting down all macys right or just this one? because a macys is one of the spots taking position in the new development in katy (grand shoppes or what ever). what needs to go in is a ruehl 925. it would be great to have and also position itself next to the new mid-rise development of macy's (if it occurs). ...if they want to be awesome or jawsome is my book they need to make the new section more open and not prison-esque with absolutely no windows. none too style. also, the rolls royce dealership needs to move to the galleria. just think of having a test track which drives through neimans. great idea! haha
