  1. More trivia: My sister was an extra in Urban Cowboy. She went to Gilley's everyday for three weeks filming the dance contest scene. She was one of the dancers. She was paid $30. a day plus three meals.
  2. When I was in high school in 1965, I had a part time job at the coliseum as an "usherette". At that time they were showing "wrestling" on what they called a "closed circuit screen". We, of course, would usher people to their seats. It was my very first job - I loved it. For 25 years of my life I worked as an entertainer, singing in many bands. During the "80's" I was in a band called "The Barry Kaye Show band". We performed once in a concert at the summit in what was called "Country Shower of Stars" along with Donna Fargo, Jerry Reid and a few others. We had dressing rooms under the summit that were fabulous and were filled with liquor and food when we got there. A cool memory!
  3. My husband and I have an interest in the history and beauty of Riverside Terrace. We took a drive all around there yesterday (sunday) and there is an old large white mansion at 4000 MacGregor. It must be the Weingarten house. Mary
  4. Great picture!! Back in the late 60's I used to go to Love Street with my friends. There was a small bar underground where we would see live bands......can't remember the name. Anyone remember that?? Mary
