  1. YOU ARE SO WRONG !!!! BTW, there are still plenty of JCI's around for us loyal followers to get there fix. One question for you Zaphod: Are you from Houston originally or a transplant? The reason I ask is that many transplanted Houstonians do not feel the loyality to Houston's old guard resturants / delis. I am referring to JCI and Antones. I grew up eating those places and there is a nostalgic taste to both. Too bad for you Wienershchnitzel could not make it in Houston. JCI ran their behinds out of town AS for the Original Thread. I think the Cosmo Condos loof fantastic. I was ripping on Randall Davis a few months ago. Since then I have looked at Diamond Beach and now this project. Wow, he is really putting some nice product out there. I wish I were rich. Life sounds good in a chi chi chic condo.
  2. Too bad the Astros can't seem to score for Clemens. That pitcher for the Twins is one hell of a rookie. He has wone 6 or 7 straight. He made the Astros' offense look like rookies. Clemens had a good night. 100 pitches and looked great. They need to get it going if they want to make the playoffs again.
  3. I guess Houston is just noe a theme park kind of city. What a shame !!
  4. I thought I remember the old Foley's being gutted with the shell remaining, but I did not pay too much attention so I am probably wrong. Interesting. There used to be a big Mars Music where the target used to be. I assume it took over after Montgomery Wards closed down. You have to give Metronational props for the incredible facelift and re-branding that they pulled off. It takes a huge master plan to pull off that mall re-do.
  5. Subdude, I have to ask what is up with the crazy robot on your posts. I know this is way off topic, but it is killing me. Is it from a movie or something. It looks familar, but that might be because you post often so I keep seeing it.
  6. Interesting. Did they give any indication on when they might need the equipment ??
  7. It will not be overnight, but I agree. Wulfe is going to make this happen. With all the high profile tenants (Eatzi's, Cafe Annies, Americas, Hunans) it is going to take a good plan to keep those guys happy. Of course with Whole foods supposedely anchoring a new development Eatzi's mght just be screwed.
  8. I think if a homeless guys threw a nickle at me I would have to come back with something like: "Sweet, thanks for the change loser, I guess we know why you are homeless." I would probably get killed, but I would try anyways.
  9. I know, I meant good work on finding them and posting them.
  10. Yes, Square Dancing was so big at SBS. I am not sure why. It was so retarded though. We would have to square dance for a month in PE and then put on a stupid Hoe Down for our parents. Ugggh. My kids hopefully will not have to go through that. Square dancing should be banned.
  11. I sure hope so. That is part of the reason we bought there. We were able to get into a nice size house that we can grow into. I hope to stay there for a long while.
  12. If you actaully think Free parking will ever happen you have another thing coming. Parking is a huge source of revenue for Reliant Stadium. Giving away that will never happen.
  13. Walnut Bend. Just off Briar Forrest right outside the beltway. Right by Paul Revere Middle School. The crime is not bad there has just been an upswing lately. Everyone is crying Kartina. Who knows.
  14. Classic. A bit non PC, but I love it. You nailed it. The crime increase in my neighborhood started after Katrina. Damn Hurricanes.
  15. it never is as good as you remember. Antones is another place that was magical as a kid but now just tastes OK.
  16. that is cool. I met my wife at an apt complex that was built in 2000. I guess I have a long ways to go before that is torn down...

  18. Many of the big releases play on more than one screen. Look at the times. If a movie is playing every hour but it is 2 hours long you know they are playing it on more than one screen.
  19. If the Millionare did not care about profit it would probably stay open. If he was trying to make a return or got sick of covering the losses he might just close it down. If these were profitable (for new construction) there would be new ones opening up. Quity frankly they are not profitable and the ones that are still open are most likely living off prior success or berely ekeing by. I am no expert on the subject, just my opinion.
  20. I have never seen one of those in Houston. I am sure they were around at one point, but I am pretty positive they have no pressence here now. James Coney Island always had the market for dogs.
