  1. Any events going this weekend that are free or relatively cheap? A few weeks ago there was the Art Car Parade. We should update this thread each week/
  2. Is there one in the Heights/Cottage Grove area?
  3. Get in GWMGF(Great Western Minerals) and UURAF(UCore Rare Metals) now. Hold on for a 1 yr or two.
  4. so the 2nd and 3rd floor are usually much wider than to accomodate the size of master bdrm? is it better to look for a patio home then?also, what about the washer and dryer connections? are they located on the 1st floor or 2nd floor? do u know which particular builders of townhomes or patio homes that have master bdrms on the 1st floor? also a freestanding one. thanks again.
  5. so freestanding ones don't apply?
  6. So which areas of the Heights should i avoid during the evenings?
  7. I noticed on HAR that some areas in Heights have maintance fees(HOA ?) while others do especially around the Rice Military area. If i moved into one w/o maintenance fees, can they just suddenly decide the following year to include a fee w/o some kind of vote? How does this work. Also, w/o a maintenance fee, how do they maintain their property values?
  8. master bedrooms at the 1st floor? Also, are there any non-stucco townhomes? I prefer brick with hardy plank. The maintenance on stucco must be a pain. Also, i hate townhomes grouped together that a person has to share the same driveway with their neighbors and the driveway being so narrow. It must suck getting out at times.
  9. I meant companies like GWMGF(Great Western Minerals), UURAF(UCORE Rare Metals), QSURF(Quest Rare), ATURF(Athabasca Uranium), TUEFF(Titan Uranium),. The big players are MCP(Molycorp), LYSCF(Lynas), and AVL(Avalon Rare Metals). The only Chinese one that i know of is SHZ.
  10. I haven't been there, but heard that you have to pay. I just checked their website and it is like $60 for one class!.Same for Whole Foods.
  11. Anyone here invest in companies that mine for rare earth elements? Any suggestions? Thanks.
  12. Are there any free cooking classes in Houston besides the Green Plum school? Thank you.
  13. Let the national news do that. Seems to me that the local stations should concentrate on the local area which is what they're suppose to do.

    Copper

Anyone sell copper lately? How much is it worth? I have several copper cables and want to get rid of it. Also, what other scrap metal places around town are buying copper?
  15. I think between 100-200k, but it probably depends on experience and the market size. I wouldn't be surprised if Dave Ward earns at least 300k.
  16. I guess it is official now. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ent/tv/7420263.html
  17. Anyone have a recommendation from experience of a good podiatrist that can also perform surgery? Thank you.
  18. Hopefully he earns his 170k salary . Metro needs to fire some of their lazy bus drivers.
  19. Dominique looks too plastic. I like the other gal on Ch2 who anchors the weekends....Daniella Guzman
  20. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/ny_crime/2011/01/05/2011-01-05_wabctv_forecaster_heidi_jones_charged_for_faking_story_of_central_park_attack_i_.html
  21. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/metropolitan/7105300.html A Harris County district judge has ruled in favor of KPRC-TV Channel 2 and three current or former station executives in a lawsuit filed by former anchor Wendy Corona. Corona sought $3.2 million in damages plus court costs from Channel 2, which is owned by Post-Newsweek Stations, and individual defendants after her dismissal from the station in January 2009. She came to Channel 2 in 2006 from Post-Newsweek's WPLG in Miami. However, Judge Sylvia Matthews last week granted motions for summary judgment by the defendants to dismiss allegations of breach of contract, defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, misrepresentation and fraud. Other defendants in the case included Channel 2 station manager Larry Blackerby; former Channel 2 news directors Nancy Shafran, who hired Corona and worked with her for about two months; and Skip Valet. Corona's attorney, Jan Woodward Fox, declined comment Monday on the judge's ruling, and Shira Yoshor, who represented Channel 2, could not be reached for comment. Attorney Demetrios Anaipakos, who represents Shafran, said a counterclaim against Corona for filing an abuse pleading remains pending before the court.
  22. I hadn't been to Memorial Park in a while, but noticed a segment on channel 11 news last night about it. It sure looked very very crowded...i mean damn...how many people are out there? Looks like i'll be avoiding going there.
  23. How is this area? Is it a good safe area? Just wanted to know. The houses look a bit old, but the important thing i would like to know is if the schools are good or not? The area code is 77057. Thanks
