  1. My only memories of the Music Hall were seeing the Counting Crows there in 1997 with Fiona Apple as the opeing act...talk about a strange little girl... What about the Aerial (verizon) Theatre at Bayou Place??? I have seen more than a few shows there that were some of the best concerts I have heard including Radiohead on the OK Computer tour and Wilco on the Ghost tour...it may be a little small, but that is all the better IMHO...
  2. I know people have a bad image of Baltimore (the Houston of the east coast???), but I really like the inner harbor area...I guess HBO's "the Wire" doesn't help much.... Did M&S start in Baltimore? I know they are famous for their crabcakes, which are soooooo good...they also have excellent happy hour drink and appetizer prices, so it should be a great place for after work Coog!!!
  3. It is a reference to a current television show called Family Guy, specifically a character named Quagmire who is a "horndog" pilot, fairly popular on the internet...I have no idea if he is inspired by Rosco.... Kinda looks like somone poored detergent all over it, maybe trying to get rid of an odor...old refrigerators can get sooo nasty... edit: Spelling
  4. Excellent photos of my favorite part of Houston!!! Now if I could just afford to live around there... ps -any more of those two girls on the blanket looking rather cosey...I like where this is going...giggidity giggidity!!! j/k
  5. #4 Cypress-Woods High School #8 Cy-Fair High School Is number 9 Klein Oak as well??
  6. Nothing against air conditioning...I was just saying that Willowbrook could use more skylights to let some light in...it feels very clostrophobic..look at the Woodlands or the newest section of the Galleria (4?) In my opinion, the "feeling" of being outdoors while indoors is the ideal environment.
  7. I have thought about a Mall in Cypress, but I don't think I want one...just look what happens to them over time. The only nice malls I know of are the Galleria (tourist destination...still has some bad elements) and the Woodlands Mall which is also the newest. Also, most malls that are still considered "nice" have undergone major renovations and redevelopments recently...where is this for Willowbrook??? They need to do some serious work on Willowbrook to make it lighter and less clostrophobic feeling. It seems people want to be outdoors again, so that is probably what we will get in Cypress..and I am fine with that.
  8. I think if you want to win you don't want players with high ankle sprains from cutting on turf. I agree with you that the ability of the players on the field decide the game, but I would want to maximize the likelyhood that my talented players are playing. I realize this is a small thing, but in the NFL, where every player has incredible athletic ability and every coach is intelligent (ha!), little things make the difference. Agreed, Gary, white was a poor choice...I think the thing is canvas or plastic so it must come that color....
  9. What's not true??? Football is pretty serious business in the NFL, every advantage that can possibly be had is taken, including practicing on a surface that mimics that on which you play. Also, practice on astro-turf can increase the chance for injury, something players and owners absolutely will not accept if they can help it... Why do you think teams are spending millions of dollars on removable fields to grow grass indoors?? No one likes the artificial stuff...although, that new surface they use at the Ford Center in Detroit may be something different, but I don't have any experience with it....
  10. They would only use it if they could tear the roof off and grow grass inside. As was mentioned earlier, you need to practice on the same surface you will play on in the game...if you want a winning team...
  11. The bubble is the cheapest way to keep a good indoor practive facility and not chew up the grass inside reliant before the game. The one the Longhorns use in Austin is always very clean, and lets be honest, the average difference in Humidity is not THAT significantly different for mold growth. Hopefully they anticipated this and will take advantage of this offseason time to give the bubbly a good scrubbing.
  12. I dont know if anyone saw it, but there was yet another news report on Channel 13 the other day about HPD stepping up its police presence along 1960 between 249 and I-45. The crime is getting pretty bad there. They really need to do something My wife no longer goes to Willowbrook mall because she doesn't feel safe. On two occasions she has had shady characters trailing her in the parking lot until she brought out her mace and turned to face them. Since we have a new baby, my wife actually drives to the Galleria to go to the mall!!!!!
