how tall will this be (in feet, not stories)?

The old Conoco campus is their new HQ. That article was incorrect.

Very classy move by Heugel.
I'm very interested to see what happens to that space. Even though Westheimer has become an incredible restaurant row, I love the hipster pockets that maintain the "alternative" roots of Montrose. I hope this becomes another dance club, hooka lounge, tattoo parlor, etc and not a wine bar or restaurant.

Given how well the River Oaks portion of Westheimer turned out, it would be nice to string together a stretch all the way from Midtown to the Galleria without power line clutter.
Does anyone have insight on when this project would start? Is it approved and funded?
-
Does anyone know if this project contemplates burying the power lines?

Great news for the neighborhood.

I actually think the way these buildings will be situated on each site will limit the obstruction of views.
Both are excellent projects, in my opinion, and probably 2 of the better high-rise additions to the city in the last 5 years.

Might as well. It hardly carries any car traffic as it is.

Nothing new. They're trying to lease the office building, haven't had any deals yet but are getting interest from mid-sized energy firms and financial institutions.
I think the residential and hotel is slated to go forward with the office waiting on preleasing.

Were they charging for parking and if so how much..? I seen they have a machine at the entrance of the lot.
I assume they will but not sure...I walked.

Just edited the subject. I had started it prior to knowing what was being built there.
They did a good job with the parking lot. I was a little worried but it is an aesthetically pleasing parking lot that doesn't really detract from the street view. Well done.
I tried the bar and it's not my thing but I can see it going over well with Aggies, etc. Even if it fails it's a nice structure for whatever would replace it.

Doesn't look like this has broken ground yet.

Has anything happened here? This was originally announced to break ground Q2 of this year which is almost gone.

Upon further investigation, it appears Buffalo Exchange is moving to a strip center on Shepherd in between W Alabama and Westheimer. There is a variance request in front of the Buffalo Exchange building outlining 2-story retail. Possibly all related?

So a parking lot? That's too bad.

Looks like some dirt is being moved on the empty lot between La Grange and Buffalo Exchange. Does anyone have the scoop? Based on a quick Google search it looks like this was planned to be a Bunkhouse hotel back in 2008, but I'm assuming those plans have been scrapped.

Wow this would be fantastic if it actually turns out like that. The red canopies really make it slick.

This site will be an office building at some point in the next 10-20 years. There isn't any room for office development in Greenway Plaza and this is one of the lots that could work.

Papa Geno's on Ella at W 18th is awesome if you like a good cheesesteak. Good size, good price, nice people. I'm not a spokesman for authenticity, but theirs are just way better than anything Jake's or Texadelphia (not too hard to beat them) has.
Easily the best kept secret in Houston. This cheesesteaks at this place are incredible and they make every other cheesesteak place in Houston look like amateurs.

There are two tower cranes in the area between the Cemex building and Specs near Bunker Hill Road. Does anyone know what's going up there?
The second office building.

It's curious to me why CityCentre is doing so well and West Ave is taking off so slowly. Is it just timing? Does WestAve have higher rents?
The location + office angle of CityCentre make it much more of a slam dunk. West Ave is in the middle of one giant mixed use (Upper Kirby/River Oaks) with plenty of retail/restaurant options. CityCentre brought mixed use to a largely wealthy residential area.

I heard office coming to this site, too.
