  1. Kirby's got a few high-rises, including some that were built in the last five years. I'd think Midtown would have been ripe for all of this but that Australian venture that was supposed to build five residential highrises turned out to have mirage financing and got canceled after the first one.

At least it's not Conroe, but that's bound to happen sooner or later...

Avenida De Las Americas is a mouthful. Could rename it to Richard Kinder Blvd.

Or you rename the Downtown portion of Dallas Street too to avoid confusion with W Dallas St. But that might more work with changing addresses than renaming ADLA.

Changing both Dallas Streets would enable people to be less perplexed to find a Dallas Street in Houston. Or a Houston Street in Dallas...

Kinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts

That did not sit well with some of the HSPVA alumni. Just as there are people who still gripe that Ronald Reagan's name ended up on National Airport.

I know this is off topic from MMP, but to expand on my above comment: imagine if there were some movement behind the scenes to build a brand new state-of-the-art downtown arena to officially lure away the NHL Coyotes to Houston?

Phoenix is trying to block Tempe's plans for a new stadium, as the Coyotes are currently playing in ASU's arena that seats 4600 people... A brand new stadium could close the deal, if things have been quietly progressing.

NHL, NBA, MLB, MLS all downtown? One can dream!

Don't forget returning the WNBA to Houston. The Comets won four championships in a row when the league started operations. But they couldn't keep the team from moving to Tulsa.

  5. Mass timber construction...
    Framework@Block10

"Houston-based Hicks Ventures is preparing to break ground on a six-story, 200,000-square-foot office building in west Houston that the company promises will be among the city’s most sustainable properties.

Patrick Hicks, founder and CEO of Hicks Ventures, said the design for the project — dubbed Framework @ Block 10 — at 10496 Old Katy Road near Memorial City started with the goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions, as well as net-zero operational energy use."

The most recent document posted by Hindesky appears to be for a 5,289 square foot single family residence. This used to be a condo but perhaps they are changing it to a SFH due to lack of demands. They have been trying to sell this condo for many years.

$6 million's a lot to spend on a single-family residential construction. There's more to the story...
